He has good pop, but talks of him putting someone's lights out is unwarranted. He wears you down.

i think only his left hook to the body is above average, other than that he is definitly no power puncher
In some way shape or form somebody no matter what is the topic has to mention Pac in one way or another

I don't think it's overrated cause I don't think anyone is under the impression that he's a one punch guy.

He's a strong puncher and can wear you down. His punches cause visible damage to his opponents, everyone he fights(outside of Clottey who is nearly impossible to mark up) has shown the effect his punches have. That's the sign of a strong puncher, but he's definitely not a knockout puncher.

When he was at a lower weight class, yes he was a hard puncher. At 154, not so much but can still wear you down.

he used to have a reputation for re arranging peoples faces at 140 and such but now at this point at the higher weight classes his power is barely above average

                  at 154 yes
its overrated. he's still a good puncher, but against guys that large and with 10 oz gloves it is not the weapon it used to be.

                  the guy is a WW.

at 140 he could flat out ****. one punch fight changing power to the head and the body. decent right hand. huge left hook. huge punch. there was a time when it was considered one of the best punches in boxing. he's modified his style a good deal, but cotto came into the game as a boxer with an olympic pedigree and a Caribbean boxing style and morphed over the first few years of his career into a destroyer.
he was always also a slow starter

later along in his run at 140 he started to get touched up (corely, torres,)
and again at 147 (shane, judah,) and he stopped moving forward exclusively. stopped body punching for the most part, and really went back to boxing during and after his fight with antonio margarito, whose gloves were clearly loaded with plaster in '08 and leading up to that fight

outside of three guys in his first two years as a pro, only clottey, ndou, malinaggi, mosley, have been able to make it 12 rounds in a cotto victory. those guys have great chins.
cotto was a very good puncher in his prime, and he carried his power late into the fight. lots of knockouts in the 10th, 11th, and even the 12th.

go watch mararito's fight with golden johnson and tell me those gloves arent loaded
it's one round, and you have no excuse not to watch it because i'm embedding it right here.

off topic a bit, but here it is.

also off topic but biggest evidence of margarito's plaster isn't golden johnson win it is this sparring partner incident: http://ryanman.tripod.com/holloway.html

I honestly don't think Pac has more power. He has the speed so he lands at different angles when people don't see the punches coming. I guess the only way to test their power is to stand in front of each and take their best punch. I would rather take Pac's punch. Cotto's will do more damage.
