Floyd was not the main attraction in that fight. It was Oscar. When Floyd became the star, he could not do it. In fact the best he has done since then was lower than Pac's best, and that fight was between two non-Americans.

Pacquiao PPV buys have grown since Oscar. 1.25m for Oscar 1.41m for Marquez

Mayweather PPV buys have never got near what he did with Oscar. 2.44m for the Oscar fight to 1.25m against Ortiz.

this is a indefensible position to take for floyd publicly. He's giving team pacquiao a reason not to fight him and the majority of the boxing fans and sporting fans in public will blame him as the main reason for this fight not happening. How can the fight be successfully negotiated when you are putting up ultimatums left and right? Floyd needs to get off this stance for the sake of the sport, his legacy, and his bank account.

The last big hurdles in getting the deal done are getting Manny Pacquiao to agree on it and picking the venue.

Links to articles dated before Roach's words on the 4th stating that 147 had already been agreed.

Mayweather had not thought on the blood testing at this point.

Mayweather agreed to 50/50 as well
The timeline did not specifically mention the date when Roach made this statement, but what is apparent was that Floyd did not pursue it any further.

They only began negotiaions in early December, late November at the earliest, and everything was hammered out in no time at all. Arum said he was shocked how easy negotiations were going.

It is unlikely that Roach was involved in these negotiations as well.

Yup ODH was the star. But floyd brought in another 1 mil ppv buys. FLoyd outsold ODH and Manny (unless you count unofficial numbers) with Shane. Floyd outsold Manny with Hatton. Floyd was the 1st guy to go over 1 mil with JMM. Floyd likley outsells manny with cotto but we wont know. Finally, floyd will surely outsell ODH with Manny.

So ODH was the star then floyd is arguably as big now, and should he and manny fight, will be the unquestioned #1.

floyd can get to #1 with Manny or ODH. Manny can't get to#1 without floyd. ODH couldn't get to #1 without floyd. SO who really is driving the sales?

You're using a faulty criteria to determine who does better. Would Floyd have done better than Pac if Pac fought DLH, Hatton and Shane ahead of Floyd and beat them the way he did? Think about that and make an honest conclusion.

What's really important to consider are the following:

Floyd as the top draw, had PPV fights since 2005. His total in the top 25 is 4. That excludes the Oscar fight since he was not the top draw.

Pac on the other hand, since becoming the top draw in 2009, has 6, excluding the one with DLH since he was not the top draw.

Take note that Pac's figures, except for the Clottey fight, have been steadily rising.

And to emphasize once more, take note that in those six fights of Pac, 4 were with non-Americans. That alone tells you a great deal about Pac's PPV pulling capabilities.
