Looks like Floyd wants to rely on his speed. But from what I read from Diaz too, defense and speed will be focused on in training (for Cotto). I like it!

Its not like team Mayweather to let something like this slip the contract, they should of stipulated this from the offset. I dont see any problem with it as Floyd is moving up, to me its nowhere near as dangerous as Pac dragging his opponents down in weight, if the commissions and sanctioning bodies think its ok for Pac to demand his opponents starve and dehydrate themselves to make catchweight then i think they should ok Floyds request

8 oz gloves are gonna be an advantage to mayweather, since he;s gonna be hitting mostly cotto's chin, while cotto is gonna be hitting mostly either air or his elbows

So cotto hurts his hands faster, and floyd hits harder and faster

Oscar offered Floyd $25M for a rematch, and Floyd ran the other way. So once again, Floyd is making demands, trying to stir things up, and get in the head of Cotto. How I would love to see Cotto stretch Floyd out!
That's the thing. There are many that would love to see it and since it is not happening, people are frustrated and stay discrediting Mayweather no matter what he does or says. Oscar didn't beat up on Floyd. The fight shouldn't have even been a split decision. Floyd out landed Oscar in every punch category. Oscar didn't have the face of a winner during the fight. Oscar tried to offer Floyd the same amount he offered him the first time. Floyd beat Oscar before and won the title so obviously Floyd is supposed to get more and that's why the rematch didn't happen. 80z gloves gives Cotto an edge as well because of his power. Basically you're saying Floyd is afraid for asking for smaller gloves? Doesn't make sense.

Mayweather is full of ****. It has nothing to do with blood, sweat, and tears. The only reason he wants 8oz. gloves is not to throw off his speed and timing.

Anyone who has used 8oz and 10oz Grant gloves will tell you that the padding difference over the knuckle area between the two is minimal.

Some of you guys will buy anything that comes out of this dudes mouth.

If you look at the pictures of both Cotto and Floyd's fists, Cotto has much more bigger and a more solid bone structure to his fists than Floyd. Floyd just needs to stick to what he knows best which is "speed" sure he's a bit stronger now than in the past, but he's never going to be a big puncher like that, Cotto is and has always been a big puncher and hits a bit harder than Mosley who came close to KO'ing Floyd, early...
Did you consult Margarito before you typed that statement?

This. . Lol it's quite sad. . They are like a band of blind drones. . Mayweather says Pacquiao is on steroids - all the fanboys and nuthuggers jump on the train and start posting about it. . Hahaha, funny thing is, they are actually gonna HELP Manny win a multi-million dollar judgment against their idol. . . LOL. . . .

While I agree Mosley may have just a tad more power than Cotto the comparison you made is pointless.

Cotto was backpedaling and throwing punches without setting his feet all fight vs Margarito while Mosley was planting himself and throwing bombs at Margarito with full force.

Either way 8oz, advantage Cotto who will has looked slower fighting with the 10 oz gloves and he's the power guy in the fight.

Not helping Cotto's cause AT ALL.
