naa the media will write that 8 oz gloves do not fit Cotto properly and that they give him arm and leg cramps.

They will write that Cotto is superstitious about 8 oz gloves and that he won't even have a chance because they are too small. They might even try and say Floyd is trying to make this an MMA fight with the gloves being so small and not the larger sized gloves you would normally see in this weight devision.

The media might top it off by saying Floyd knew all of this with his physic powers so he could have the advantage. The media will call Floyd a coward for demanding such a thing and that he's a mean guy who says bad words..

The media loves Floyd Mayweather! They can write scfi all day!

Props to Floyd and this certainly makes him look like he's confident that he can get a kayo but he certainly better be careful. If all goes according to his plans, he will come out of this fight smelling like a rose. Not only did you beat Miguel at 154 but you beat him with 8 oz gloves. Hopefully it doesn't happen though and Miguel crashes the party!

That or Floyd ****s his hands up. If Cotto smashes him I hope its not due to Floyd's hands being messed up. I would give Cotto every ounce of credit regardless but I don't want anything deflecting the victory, like injured hands (floyd).

However, like I have said since they where JWW's, this is a look good fight for Floyd (vs a guy that Team Pac did not want to fight at JMW even though Pac had him as his #1 choice). Can't wait to see Cotto land a serious body shot though!

Cotto's punching power is well overrated. In fact a lot of fighters' power seems to be overrated by people on here...another example is Froch.

It's not like Cotto murders any elite fighters or has them running. Mayweather made Mosley more hesitant than Cotto did. Pacquiao didn't get seriously hurt by Cotto really and even thought Marg copped a beating he never went down like he did vs Mosley.

I don't see Cotto knocking Mayweather out unless it is a lucky shot and I don't see him landing enough to create a stoppage by accumulation either. Mayweather is more likely to win by KO simply because of his accuracy and defence he could force Cotto's team to throw in the towel to prevent Miguel taking too harsh a one-sided beating.

I love Cotto but his best chance to me is a lucky shot and I don't see him as this destroyer that some paint him as.

Can't say I disagree with Apokalips. People mistake a strong puncher for a hard, knockout puncher. Cotto just breaks you down. It's been said by many that Floyd is a desceptively hard puncher. It's by no coincidence that most fighters become really hesitant after a few rounds with him.

This is one of those cases in wich you say, "Becareful what you wish for"

As long as cotto dont wear Grants, he will be good to go!
No its not dumb by Floyd at all , this is the very same reason Manny wore 8oz against Margo , its about busting them up , actually 10oz are more likely to KO you they are more concussive , the smaller glove is about speed and breaking your face .

How about they use whatever gloves size that is normally used for the weight they are fighting at?

Lucky shot? That's absolutely ******, you just said he doesn't have one punch KO power, which he does, though not the most devastating, it's still there. Steward called him the Rican Mike Tyson the way he smashed dudes before being plaster-****ed. But he's back. And he's TKO'ing guys way bigger than him, Cotto is a small JMW. Some men are just built to withstand more, like Shane. Floyd never hurt Shane as much as Cotto did. Dude wasn't even buzzed. Cotto made him fall back plenty of times.

Cotto is the definition of elite and would absolutely outbox and then smash anyone @ JMW - especially Kirkland and all these guys who got soft jaws and throw wide-looping punches. Shane did what he had to do and he took advantage of a caught cheating Cheato but he was already slowing down. We've seen that proof in every single fight of his since. Start reading the quotes from the fighters mouths or the facts. You don't remember that Cotto broke Pacs eardrum? That **** hurt, LOL. And that Pac just said Cotto was his toughest fight in years bc he is so strong? Pac had to put in a lot work to beat Cotto down that hard. There is no 154lb'r that could do that to Cotto, not a psychologically and physically healthy Cotto at 154 - why do u think Roach is not having it? And Steward also said Cotto would beat Pac right now. Mosley said Cotto can beat Floyd and so did Pac and they both fought Cotto - Mosley fought all three of them! LOL.

Cotto will be throwing combos and while Floyd is fast and will win some exchanges, Cotto has excellent timing and great footwork, speed is enough and underrated too. He will win more exchanges due to his superior durability and strength. Look at how Ortiz was getting tee'd off on then just came back and popped Floyd, sending him to the ropes. Cotto will be much more successful. Floyd uses his legs less now, it would have been a tougher fight back in the day. Mosley was old in the ring, already gun shy vs Floyd. He seriously had a lot of chances to hit Floyd. He's a flashy ass puncher though - ducking, slipping, shoulder rolls, but he's still hittable. Ortiz landed 26 Power punches w/o a single jab. Cotto has the best jab in the entire game besides the Klitchko's. And he double and triples that *****. His fight with Shane was exciting and amazing.

Listen to the interviews, he's motivated like never before to train and study his opponent with this great trainer he has. Pedro will break it down for him, the Cuban Gold Medal Olympic trainer of 20 years knows how to beat counter-punchers. He is so hungry too. I tell you all this as a fellow Cotto fan. If you really love Cotto like you say you do than recognize he has more than a lucky chance, I'm sorry you're vastly underrating him. I love Floyd's attitude and approach to this fight, can't say a bad thing about him but TBH, he's the one who needs a lucky punch to KO Cotto. My man been through wars with harder punchers just as fast and plaster. Sounds like there will be war May 5th, WAR COTTO!!!

LOL, Cotto did not break down Gomez, Mayorga, Foreman, or plenty of others if you actually watch boxing or his fights. He has one punch KO power to the body but at 154 most dudes are built different and Shane is a truck.

I think Cotto should rock with the 10 oz gloves. Floyd is tying to get that speed advantage when he already has it, LOL. Which gloves did he use to fight DLH?
