Its got them talking for the wrong reasons. Great fights bring respect. Punks and thuggery bring ridicule not just for those involved, but everyone else associated with boxing.Comment

I really don't understand the whole "media argument".
Some of you are acting like boxing has sold it's soul out, when you got fucking clowns like the Kardashian's, Jersey Shore, and ESPN talking heads on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on twitter, facebook, and whatever have you "media" outlets running.
Wake up.
"Bu-bu-bu-but boxing is different!"
No, it assuredly is not.
It is a BUSINESS, just like anything else where a profit-loss = net margin is attached.
I have loved boxing for as long as I have loved just about any other sport.
But I'm not blind to it's fucking bullshit, either.Comment

bad for it's image?>
perhaps
bad for business?!?
hell no. it's great for business.
what's it going to look like after the klitschko's retire? i dont know, but i want to know what dereck chisora is going to be doing at his press conferences, weight ins, AND fights, for the rest of his career
getting lost in all of this was the performance of chisora. yes, klitschko looked old. he'd beat the doors off of fury if he showed up in shape like that. he'd probably stop him.
he GLASSED meComment

Exactly. Its bad publicity any way you slice it. Was the OJ incident good for football? Tiger Woods indiscretions for golf? Baseball's steroid scandal? Boxing is already considered a fringe sport nowadays. Things like this just serve to keep it illegitimate and rouge amongst the general public.Comment
