Is what happened bad for boxing?

Just been reading a few blogs on the sport sections of other sites, and I keep hearing how what happened is a disgrace to boxing.

I truly love this sport and it hurts when people **** on it. But honestly, I don't feel bad about what happened at all. And I don't think it's bad for boxing. In fact, I find the moral indignation of it all kinda ****** and silly.

This is boxing, it's a rough sport, it's a war, ****'s gonna happen. I'm glad most people on this site have seen the incident for what it really is - foolish but ultimately incredibly entertaining.

I don't condone what happened. But I don't condemn it either. It is what it is. We'll get over it once the next good fight comes around.

I like the fact the true fans of the sport know that **** like this can go down and aren't arguing about the moral implications of it all (like that whole ******ed Evra/Suarez handshake issue. Dear me, a ****ing (non) handshake inspired so much outcry).

Gotta have that entertainment factor outside the ring to keep peoples interest inside the ring i guess.

What real casual and even hardcore boxing pundits forget is that these press conference brawls aren't new to the sport and this latest incident shouldn't be considered any less embarrassing when other boxing 'greats' have been involved in similar debacles...

Pu$$y Sensitive Fans are killing me with this "CLASS" "CLASSY" BULL****

I don't agree with Slapping people when they are not expecting it and spitting in someones face and of course Klitchko Fan are going to be Sensitive about that and they are going to hate Chisora forever, but the Heavyweight Division needed some Controversy, the Division is DEAD AND BORING!

Not in the grand scheme of things no.

In 5 years time we will be watching and laughing at that presser.

I iamgine Larry Holmes jumping from a car to fly kick Trevor Berbick would have made people cringe today but how do we look at that now? Most people feel it was awesome, whici it was.

I just dont understand how it can be good

WWE action between a retired guy and a decent contender who just got his 3rd lose in 4 fights?

Yes they are boxers, but it was a post fight news conference. The fight was done with. Just because it was revolving around a boxing event means its ok to just act like animals anywhere?

Yayy now the brits are gonna pay tons of money to see Toe Haye run around the ring again.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice....

Look at it this way -- the heavyweight division is alive.

                  We now have these grudges:

                  Haye vs Chisora

                  Chisora vs The Klitschkos

                  Haye vs The Klitschkos

These can play out in all kinds of ways. Boente has promised the winner of a box-off between Haye and Chisora a title shot at a Klitschko.

And if the Klitschkos hated Haye for a t-shirt and some trash talk, how much do they now hate Dereck Chisora for slapping Vitali and spitting water in Wlad's face?

This is going to be a very interesting year for the heavyweight division.

People saying this is a "bad" for sport, have rose colored tinted glasses on.

Boxing's image has ALWAYS been a murky one.

All the way back since Jack Johnson was the heavyweight champ.

You think Chisora's antics are the worst?

For the all hand wringing, and old maid whining over this, I bet if Haye-Chisora ever came to be, it would sell out a pretty big arena in the U.K.
