I think he was just making a comment. Lin is so far beneath Mayweather Jr as far as athletic accomplishments, endorsements, monetary gain etc. I just never looked at him as hating. Its like when everyone made a big deal about him outscoring Kobe, Kobes a legend Lin has started only a few games.wrong, they also didn't play on a team with multiple superstars that were playing like ish that they turned around.
his media attention for 7 damn games is something that floyd should just stfu about. why should floyd give a damn about some kid who might be just a flash in the pan.
lets say some mexican QB rolled up onto the colts last year after they were 0-8 last year and won 5 straight games with sick ass number. do you HONESTLY think that he would just get an average amount of airplay? It's not like the media has forgotten about lebron and all the other black players.
he's HATING ON THE HYPE LIN IS GETTING. can't you see that? let the dude get some hype. wtf? again, if it was a black hockey player for the bruins or rangers doing similar things, he would be getting hype galore.
Floyds comment has truth to them no matter ow we feel about Floyd. If Lin was some just white kid r some black kid no one would care as much but with the Asian basketball community Yao Ming is done and Lin is up next, him being in NY helps like hell.Comment

The problem with Floyd's tweet is that he believes that Lin is hyped ALL because he's Asian. Yes, Floyd is correct in saying that race plays a role but the problem with his logic is that it is not even the biggest factor why he's hyped. If Lin was black, he probably would be recruited by the best athletic colleges and probably be drafted in the top 25. If you looked at Lin's history, it's pretty sad that no gave him a chance because he was Asian. Most looked at him and said, "He's a Divison III player."Comment

This is a different NBA. I'd love to see Lin vs the 1980s Pistons.Lin scored more points in his first 4 starts than MJ, Iverson, or any other player since the NBA/ABA merger. Lots of guys – black, white, whatever – can score regularly, and Lin may not continue to be this effective, but nobody has come out of nowhere to carry a team like he has.
He's good, no doubt, but Floyd was right. Lin does nothing that Rondo doesn't do on a nightly basis. He's Asian and plays for the Knicks. That's where the much of the hype stems from.
Still, it's a good story every time.Comment
