    the foreigners really cant win
    they never owned the divsision

we kept it in our back pockets

when we adopted other sports we let them have it.

    it's really that simple.

this thread was supposed to be more about Sonny Bill than the tongue in cheek comment about rugby/nba/nfl which is always brought up in a HW thread.

your attitude makes me laugh. america has gone soft

If I was a boxing fan from America I would be butt hurt if those 'commies' knocked down the wall and then took the glamour division of boxing for their own.

Meh, the HW division was never really my thing, anyways, when I was growing up watching the sport.

Let's face it, anyone who chooes to play a non contact fairy sports like basketball or needs to wear a helmet and pads to play football isn't likely to have the courage required to make it as a top boxer.

Australia and new Zealand have never dominated the boxing because rugby and Aussie rules have always been popular a that's where the best athletes in the world go.

most people when someone mentions boxing people tend to think of the likes of Ali and Tyson.

I always preferred watching the division with people fighting at the same weight as me personally. I don't know why

                  BTW i am 168lbs.

Going by this Wikipedia page I count 50 American heavyweight champions since 1882. (it was hard to count them because there were so many, and some of the names repeated.)

Since 1882 New Zealand has had.......wait for it.....0 heavyweight champions.

So there is a reason to ask why US boxing has dropped off. There is no reason to ask why New Zealand boxing has dropped off.

Because going from 0 to 0 is not a drop off.
