It makes me laugh when people make such ridiculous claims top Rugby players are extremely good and skilled athletes that deserve mention alongside any world class athlete no matter the sport. Don't try to tell people how great the sports you like are at the same time talking down other sports its petty and stems from ignorance.

that is not a skill player

actually watching the sport will qualify you on the subject

rugby isnt anywhere near as large as the NFL
    not even close

and rugby countries didnt dominate the division before rugby came into the spotlight

that's what happened in the states.

we had the best HW in the world
then all of our great large athletes headed to the NFL and NBA

and the eddie chambers and chris arreola's stuck around (and still made it to the top ten)

your argument would make sense if your countries ever dominated the division. tell me, when was new zealand producing the world's best HW?

america has been producing them for as long as people have been boxing, until now, when the NBA and the NFL are huge and nobody cares in the least about boxing.

    and that's the difference

      I agree with New England.

You have the option of making millions playing with a ball. Or making millions getting punched in the face....

      yeah, play ball it is.

if you spend time in american sporting culture and know boxing it's the only logical conclusion. the great american HW talent that you used to see coming around every generation has moved to the NFL and the NBA (and to a lesser degree the MLB and the NHL, lol!)

i'm not saying these guys would dominate the sport, either
they'd have to be built into boxers from youth

i'm saying it's downright laughable not to draw a line between a lack of premium talent in the division and the birth of these two organizations

especially considering the track record of americans in the division.

and most of these guys have never even seen a football game, and think that everybody is 350 lbs and 6'7"

            they dont like americans.

            that's my only guess
its a nationalistic thing. they dont like that america has dominated the division. trying to break down the argument that the main (not the only reason, but the main reason,) reason we arent still dominating is the NFL and the NBA

why are you guys watching an american based sport (boxing,) if you dont like america?

i got news for you, outside of two two and a half divisions (CW, HW, and some MW,) the best boxers fight their ways out of their own country to fight here against the best

            we have the best trainers
            the best gyms
            the best fighters
            the most champions
            the biggest fights

i think it wears on them, and you get threads like this one

Most NBA/NFL players would never make it in boxing.

A guy like Ray lewis would though if he chose boxing as his main sport at a young age. He's like 6'1 2xx and powerful as hell.

and the chambers and arreola's do?
                come now

thats just not true. think about who you are advocating for (the current top ten)

they wouldnt all be hard as nails and have huge chins

but they're all hard workers with more drive than arreola and fat chambers could ever muster

                talent is talent
you are a hell of a lot better with it than without it

if these guys all moved from their sports to boxing at 12 years old they would absolutely overhaul the division

you wouldnt even think some of these guys are real

                we're talking 7 footers

                not 6'6"
seven footers that run like deer, with 90 inch reaches

how are you so ****** that you said two totally opposite statements in one post? Most NFL players would never make it boxing. Yet Ray Lewis, NFL, would have. There are lots of physical & athletic monsters like Lewis in the NFL. The fuck is wrong with your brain?

theres no telling how athleticism translates among sports. with that said, u put a guy like rjj, or terrell owens or lebron james in just about any sport at an early age and they would be great at it.
