lots of it is still very relevant in boxing today
it's basically an instruction manual for boxing from 100 plus years back
and outside of that it's great for a laugh
for instance: he's got a full breakdown of how to wrap a guy up in his jacket and pummel him, just like a hockey fight
there are pictures and everything. he's very technical.
it's pretty unbelievable, actually. piece of history.
its online. i'll provide a link.Comment

that is not a skill player
actually watching the sport will qualify you on the subject
rugby isnt anywhere near as large as the NFL
not even close
and rugby countries didnt dominate the division before rugby came into the spotlight
that's what happened in the states.
we had the best HW in the world
then all of our great large athletes headed to the NFL and NBA
Notice something? Yeah, that's right, he was slow as molasses and got beat by an NBA guy. So what's your excuse for why Elvin Hayes wasn't boxing back then? He was clearly the faster athlete, with the longer reach.
Moving on...
Here's Joe lifting weights.
He does a bit better here, (though his first lift shouldn't have counted), but he still doesn't take first place. And he wasn't exactly competing against massively powerful guys was he?
If anyone thinks I'm insulting Frazier here, they're wrong. Joe was a prime example of why athleticism doesn't hold a candle to grit, determination and heart. He would have beaten the pulp out of all those guys blindfolded, including ATG Elvin Hayes, and barely broken a sweat. Why? Because he was a fighter.
That's the important thing that's being lost here.Last edited by nomadman; 02-10-2012, 06:06 AM.Comment
