Ken Norton fought strategic but he wasn't boring.
Why Do People Claim 'Mayweather is boring'?

Headbutting someone in the face isn't very classy either though, is it? That set the whole thing off.Comment

Are you going to tell me that he should have let Ortiz get away with that ish?
Should he not take advantage of Ortiz ******ity when the opportunity shows itself?
Maybe we should have a rule where you can't punch a opponent while his hands are down.
Sounds smart right?Comment

mainstream fans only appreciate "blood, knockouts and 12 rounds of ass kicking". real boxing fans appreciate all aspects of the sport, including the technical and strategical apsects.
its like if i said im a huge football fan but i only like to watch my team on offense and only when they throw the ball, that doesnt sound like a real football fan to me. and neither is a boxing "fan" who only enjoys physical fights, they are only in it for random violence. a real fan recognize good boxing when they see it so they appreciate it.
i love a good scrap and i love a good chessmatch, i love boxing. boxing after all means "hitting without getting hit", not being hit is 50% of boxing in other words. you should be able to appreciate a fighters defense as much as his offense, and floyds defense is poetry in motion.
real boxing fans appreciate what you describe as a "typical mayweather fight".Comment

Honestly, I don't get it.
It's shocking, that a lot of the, so called boxing fans, constantly say "Mayweather's boring to watch".
I mean, personally, I think he makes boxing look beautiful.
Is a KO all they want to see?
Nothing more spectacular than a perfectly timed counter imo.Comment

At the Baldomir fight, Tiger Woods and Charles Barclay ( 2 very keen boxing fans) stood up and walked out during the fighting, and there had been a steady stream of others since rd 4. Larry Merchant pointed this out and said that he didn't know of any other good fighter who could "stink out the house" like Mayweather, and have people walking out during the fight.
He also said that Mayweather never fills more than 1/4 to 1/3rd of the arena, and then the camera showed all the rows of empty seats. The attendance was very poor. The arena management had had to put on the music, because of the loud booing, to drown out the noise and distract the attendees. This was a rare thing.
Personally I don't like Mayweather, but can see his skills. After all it's a "hit and not be hit sport"...."The Noble Art of Self Defence" etc. or used to be. Perhaps these were just euphisms for an inherently brutal occupation, and we've been kidding ourselves. It's really a matter of enjoyment.
I believe that Mayweather disheartens opponents, who are generally keen to get to grips with him, by his immediate backwards movements away from all contact not caused by himself. Also his constant holding and throat elbowing, with no referee attention. Only 3 fights by Mayweather interested me; against
Augustus, Castillo 1 and Hatton. I've seen about 20 and heard about the others.
I don't think that, after an outpouring of grief from the Mayweather crazies, that anyone will miss him when he departs.Comment

If you find Mayweathers fights boring, you should blame the opponent as much as Floyd, himself. I mean, who loses to a "boring fighter, that only throws 15 punches a round"?
If he's so boring, get in there and do something about it.
"Floyd don't wanna fight" - it's your job to make him. It's not his job to get into a brawl and take a lot of punishment.Comment
