Why Do People Claim 'Mayweather is boring'?

because during his fights it is usually one guy doing what ever he wants and landing punches anytime he wants while the other guy is struggling to land a Clean Punch against him

to casual boxing fans...this would be boring because Casual Fans are not very smart and most of them probably don't know the difference between and hook and a uppercut lol

Because he is too intelligent not to throw wild punch combinations and take punches to the head. He does not engage in wars he out thinks his opponents instead.

He is involved in boring fights, well he used to be, because he insisted in running backwards around the ring pitty-pattying.

He doesn't have the legs for that any more however, and now he has to stand in front of his opponent. His fights are more entertaining as a result, I'm looking forward to Mayweather v Cotto.

The fact of the matter is.......Floyd is boring to watch.

He's good at what he does but he doesn't bring the flare or excitement of past greats like Ali, sugar ray or even current fighter like Pac or Marquez.

Floyd is like a painter, while your watch the paint dry it's boring as f@?k but the final result is usually a work of art.


Even to real boxing fans he is boring.


If you can dominate a guy get him out of there don't prolong it 1 punch at a time. Put them together and get him out.

And it doesn't matter how a fighter fights, if he effectively shuts down his opponents that's all that matters, ko or not.

When Floyd fights I already know it's going to be a 12 Rd UD. There's no surprise in the fight. When Tyson was in his prime the question is "what round is he going to knockout his opponent?". Who would you rather watch fight live? Floyd Mayweather Jr. Or a Prime Mike Tyson? Knockouts = excitement

By that reasoning Morales Barrera, Ward Gatti and Pacquiao Marquez are all pretty boring.

And I prefer watching Mayweather over Tyson, Tyson was a great ko artist but he was also one-dimensional, he could never systematically break down and out-think his opponents like Mayweather does.

I hope people do see some of Floyd fights in the lower weight divisions, because he also didn't just run either. He's shown that he's an absolutely brilliant pocket fighter.

Honestly, I don't get it.

It's shocking, that a lot of the, so called boxing fans, constantly say "Mayweather's boring to watch".

I mean, personally, I think he makes boxing look beautiful.

We know how talented Floyd is, but you don't have to be a casual Boxing fan to say a fight like Mayweather vs Baldomir, Mayweather vs Marquez, Mayweather vs De La Hoya weren't very entertaining fights more than maybe Mayweather fans clamoring over how good he is. I've been following Boxing for more than half of my life and I don't feel like any less of a fan because I stopped paying attention to both the Baldomir and De La Hoya fights after the 8-9th round.
