Because people have no idea what boxing is, they seem to confuse it with street fights. They appear to be oblivious to the fact that boxing involves speed, defense, movement, offense, technique, footwork, skills and above all ring smarts. The majority watching this art just want to see KO's and blood, and don't get me wrong I enjoy the bloodfest and KO's just as much as the next guy, but it amazes me even more when a boxer gets in there and outclasses another world class athlete that trained vigorously for roughly 6 months just to fight him only to get dominated, countered, embarrassed even and thats when you see a boxer, skills unmatched and those are the rare true sons of this art . Remember kids: BOXING-To hit WITHOUT getting hit. It is a beautiful thing to watch. Sadly there are very few boxing fans out there and many more [insert fighters name here] fans. Mayweather being arguably the purest boxer of our era, boxes in a time with very few people knowledgable of the art and science that is boxing. Hence gets criticized for not being another mindless brawler.
Why Do People Claim 'Mayweather is boring'?

i wouldnt say its boring, its just not fireworks like people expect. floyd does put on a good show of boxing skills its just that his style is not to **** it out so to a lot of people that is consider boring. just like if u went to go watch a basketball game and everyone is just doing nice passes laying the ball up but no dunks or anything.Comment

what i find funny reading some of these post from these so called boxing experts is that these guys are saying people dont know about boxing and that boxing is not just about punching your opponent in the face. it has to do with a lot more like defense, etc. but the same people turns around and make fun of MMA saying its boring guys just roll around, etc. well thats part of mma.Comment

his fights are mediocre when it comes to excitement for the most part.
he just doesn't have a friendly style to watch. i admire his technique and a lot of the moves he does but throwing 30 punches a round doesn't really peak my interest.Comment

I love a good Boxing match / performance, but a boring fight is a boring fight, no need really to justify one man's great abilities over it. We know how talented Floyd is, but you don't have to be a casual Boxing fan to say a fight like Mayweather vs Baldomir, Mayweather vs Marquez, Mayweather vs De La Hoya weren't very entertaining fights more than maybe Mayweather fans clamoring over how good he is. I've been following Boxing for more than half of my life and I don't feel like any less of a fan because I stopped paying attention to both the Baldomir and De La Hoya fights after the 8-9th round.Comment

He suffers from the same problem of Wlad - he is way better than his competition but is content to coast to the win.Comment

Honestly, I don't get it.
It's shocking, that a lot of the, so called boxing fans, constantly say "Mayweather's boring to watch".
I mean, personally, I think he makes boxing look beautiful.
Is a KO all they want to see?
Nothing more spectacular than a perfectly timed counter imo.
Pac's style is more pleasing thoughComment

He's probably the fighter I enjoy watching the most. To see a guy go in there against other world level fighters and simply outclass them in all aspects of the game. I'm not looking for KO's or brawls when he fights, I'm looking for class.
Mayweather displays everything I like to see; skill, speed, timing, counters, defence, offense, ring IQ...it's normally a beautiful thing to watch.Comment
