Boring is subjective of course, nothing wrong with thinking he's boring. Personally I enjoy his style a lot, don't want to sound corny but it really is like poetry in motion when he fights.

But no doubt he's been in some really lackluster fights. IF you watch his early fights up to 130 its very very entertaining.

The fact of the matter is.......Floyd is boring to watch.

He's good at what he does but he doesn't bring the flare or excitement of past greats like Ali, sugar ray or even current fighter like Pac or Marquez.

Floyd is like a painter, while your watch the paint dry it's boring as f@?k but the final result is usually a work of art.

Even to real boxing fans he is boring.

If you can dominate a guy get him out of there don't prolong it 1 punch at a time. Put them together and get him out.

They feel the fight against De La Hoya represents the 37 fights he had before that. As such they think excitement is a new things to his style.

Me personally, I can watch an unskilled fighter club the opposition into submission. I pay to see fighters do things that ordinary fighters cannot do.

This is how I know people know absolutely NOTHING about boxing past 2006.
Floyd at 130 pretty much punished all his opponents, walked them down but in turn he himself would get hit.
Floyd at 135...... Same as above.
Floyd at 40 & 47 not only did less damage, the guys were bigger, so taking damage made no sense when u can just box them to death.

Chess is boring to checker players.

Also if a fight is boring I place the responsibility on the loser and match maker. It's up to them to stop the opponent from winning and force them to take necessary risks.

its like if i said im a huge football fan but i only like to watch my team on offense and only when they throw the ball, that doesnt sound like a real football fan to me. and neither is a boxing "fan" who only enjoys physical fights, they are only in it for random violence. a real fan recognize good boxing when they see it so they appreciate it.

i love a good scrap and i love a good chessmatch, i love boxing. boxing after all means "hitting without getting hit", not being hit is 50% of boxing in other words. you should be able to appreciate a fighters defense as much as his offense, and floyds defense is poetry in motion.

real boxing fans appreciate what you describe as a "typical mayweather fight".
to each their own. Im a die hard boxing fan. A boxer myself. And i still dont care for chess matches. Styles make fights...you cant say a real boxing fan has to appreciate all styles. That your opinion only not all of other fans and die hards. Some get into this sport for the blood and guts of it some dont. Ive been told by gym peers that they like to get hit...and some dont like it at all and choose defense...which goes to certain style. A style i see as boring to watch!
