COTTO I ADMIT WAS ,WAS A LEGITAMATLEY GREAT FIGHTER HE BEAT MOSLEY WAY BEFORE JR OR PAC DID AND FOR THAT HE DESERVES CREDIT,HE INDEED WAS A GREAT FIGHTER ALBEIT FOR A VERY SHORT TIME,I DUNNO WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM ******* OR SHOPWEAR OR HIS LACK OF STAMINA OR JUST PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES BUT HES BROKEN AND RIDING ON NAME ALONE .I LIKE COTTO HES A COOL DUDE HE WAS MY FAVE AT ONE POINT And I HATED THAT HE AND MARGS FOUGHt PERIOD BECAUSE THEY WERE MY FAVES AT THE TIME ,BUT HIS FANS,MANAGMENT AND FAMILY NEED TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THIS KID, HES TAKEN HORRIFIC BEATINGS HES NOT THE COTTO THAT BEAT MOSLEY ANYMORE, ITS SAD TO SEE HIM PITTED In COMPLETLEY UNWINNABLE FIGHTS,HES A GOOD GUY AND DOESNT DESERVE THAT MAYBE HES TO BLAME MOSTLY but its sad to watch and its upsetting to see the very people that care about him supposedly even his family want to see him face fighters that can and will slaughter him thats disturbing to watch, when cottos mom was talking smack to margs that was disturbing and cheap because even in that fight cotto was receiving a lot of shots towards the end and his fortunes were rapidly reversing,, cotto needs to retire period........to me cotto is in roy jones jr territory rt now slightly better but not by much.DUDE FINE. I AM A COTTARD, W/E YOU LIKE. But to me, you sucking a guy off who hasn't done **** in boxing for the majority of his carreer and is a huge guy compared to Cotto calling him out and ****. What the ****, should we all fight guys who call us out? Pac should have been fought bradley than. And Khan. Martinez should fight the men his size, there are divisions for a reason.Last edited by boxingfan76; 02-03-2012, 02:43 PM.Comment

OK I can respect that bro. I disagree with the Margs fight and the Roy Jones thing. I DO AGREE Cotto is not the same but as I highlighted above that is due to the Margs beat down. I fight and a beatdown like that will kill you mentally. IDK if you follow him but he has said after that fight he lost his trainer then his passion for the sport. He basically surrounded himself with yes men and replaced his uncle with his nutritionist. So yes, he has looked worst since Mosley but I wouldn't go so far with the Roy Jones thing LOL. I think that win over Margs and the new trainer should see him revitalized but the thing is he's jumping right into a Floyd fight. I wanted him to whip ass at 154 first - Kirkland, Alvarez, etc. but I guess he either wants to cash out or wants to prove to himself he can do this. Cheers!COTTO I ADMIT WAS ,WAS A LEGITAMATLEY GREAT FIGHTER HE BEAT MOSLEY WAY BEFORE JR OR PAC DID AND FOR THAT HE DESERVES CREDIT,HE INDEED WAS A GREAT FIGHTER ALBEIT FOR A VERY SHORT TIME,I DUNNO WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM ******* OR SHOPWEAR OR HIS LACK OF STAMINA OR JUST PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES BUT HES BROKEN AND RIDING ON NAME ALONE .I LIKE COTTO HES A COOL DUDE HE WAS MY FAVE AT ONE POINT And I HATED THAT HE AND MARGS FOUGHt PERIOD BECAUSE THEY WERE MY FAVES AT THE TIME ,BUT HIS FANS,MANAGMENT AND FAMILY NEED TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THIS KID, HES TAKEN HORRIFIC BEATINGS HES NOT THE COTTO THAT BEAT MOSLEY ANYMORE, ITS SAD TO SEE HIM PITTED In COMPLETLEY UNWINNABLE FIGHTS,HES A GOOD GUY AND DOESNT DESERVE THAT MAYBE HES TO BLAME MOSTLY but its sad to watch and its upsetting to see the very people that care about him supposedly even his family want to see him face fighters that can and will slaughter him thats disturbing to watch, when cottos mom was talking smack to margs that was disturbing and cheap because even in that fight cotto was receiving a lot of shots towards the end and his fortunes were rapidly reversing,, cotto needs to retire period........to me cotto is in roy jones jr territory rt now slightly better but not by much.Comment

Martinez vs Floyd would have been a far better fight than Cotto vs Floyd. Martinez would have a real chance of beating Floyd. Cotto doesn't have a hope in hell.Comment

Because major USA boxing press outlets tried to sell us that Williams was the next coming of Tommy Hearns. Some people believed it. But the bubble burst. Now they press outlets have to save face and call Martínez great.Comment

This, like most of the Cotto/Pac/Floyd fanatics arguments falls down when you consider that Sergio is willing to come to them to make the fight.
Supposedly 154 is "Cotto's division" now and Sergio is willing to fight him there. Mayweather fought at 54 against Oscar, why not Sergio? Pac fought Margarito at 150, Sergio says he'll come down.
Are any of those super middlweights willing to come down to 160?
Didn't think so.Comment

"future hall of famer"?...For what?...Supposedly beating a semi-shot Mosely (although it was a draw!), beating another semi-shot fighter in Judah (who never was a welterweight), or being gifted a win against Clottey, a fighter who has so little fight in him (or punch out put) that it would be an insult to his profession to label with such a title. "Hall of famer", don't make me laugh!Comment

No, it's because just about everybody else didn't want to face Paul Williams. Martinez wasn't put off by the result of their first fight, kept asking for a rematch and then did what nobody else had done to him before, knock Williams out cold!Comment
