Sergio went on an impressive run against the likes of Williams and Pavlik, but since becoming the man in the division has chose not to face the more dangerous guys like Golovkin and Pirog in order to have in-house fights with Macklin and then probably Andy Lee or Jermain Taylor. This is the exact same thing he complains about Arum doing.
I like Martinez as a fighter, he seems like a nice guy and I hate how the WBC, Arum and HBO all screwed him. But if his people want to sit there and criticise Cotto, who has fought almost everyone, then they need to be willing to fight the guys who are the biggest risk and the fact is that they aren't.Comment

if all these dumb fans didn't buy mismatch ppvs with pac and floyd it would actually force them to fight tougher competition. guys like martinez just wait around for the big fights that will never come so it creates a domino effect and destroys everything around those divisions shutting out good fighters like pirog, prorksa and golovkin.Sergio went on an impressive run against the likes of Williams and Pavlik, but since becoming the man in the division has chose not to face the more dangerous guys like Golovkin and Pirog in order to have in-house fights with Macklin and then probably Andy Lee or Jermain Taylor. Translation; Floyd duck rogers ducked us for a safety fight with Cotto.Pablo Sarmiento, the trainer for middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, doesn't give WBA junior middleweight king Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) any possible chance to pull off an upset on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he defends his title against Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs).
