if jmm fights and beat someone else at 147 i will respect him as a welterweight.
I feel his fight with Pac (i had him winning no doubt) is more due to just outsmarting him.

I guess we'll have to see.

Cotto's odometer is on its way to reaching Erik Morales shot level.

His fights vs yuri foreman where he was actually getting outboxed and pushed backed in stretches vs a very weak puncher, his performance vs a utterly decrepit mayorga and vs margarito where margs was starting to get his licks before they stopped the fight is evidence that cotto is on the decline rather than on the uptick nor leveling out.

Pacquiao did not want to fight Cotto at Jr middle weight, so Mayweather said he was up for it. Thats more impressive to me.

This is not impressive at all, cotto is done on the elite level.
Mayweather going to make cotto look like a fool.

For me, beating arguably the best WW in the world was enough for me to know he can perform there. Despite it being their 3rd fight and having a good style for him.

Everyone, including me, thought Pacquaio would kill Marquez solely because he couldn't perform at the weight.

For me, beating Pacquaio proved to me the weight wasn't an issue.

Is is ideal for him? No.

But can he perform to a top, world class level there? He sure as hell proved he can.

seriously, could it be his 7th best win behind JLC, Corrales, chicanito, ODLH, Hatton, Mosley?

In retrospect the Mosley win is not that great i guess.
The Mosley win is better than this Cotto win because Mosley actually knocked out the #1WW to become #1WW[Margarito coming straight off a stoppage over Cotto].

Cotto's best win at JMW was against the #5 rated Yuri Foreman, followed by two straight wins over fighters who were not even ranked in the top 10..

Ortiz is also a better win, and better fighter than Cotto. He was the #2 best WW, he just beat an undefeated champion, and Ortiz is actually frsh, young and prime.

So I would put both Mosley and Ortiz above Cotto as better wins for Floyd. This win means pretty much nothing for Floyd's career at this point. I hope he fights Martinez next at 154, as of now i'm rooting for Cotto to beat Floyd.

I thought Pac would stop Marquez as well, late in the fight, due to both weight and age.

Cotto was never that sort of level, that is where people get it twisted~ so he certainly isn't there now and yes Mayweather will evicerate him.
