sadly, Cotto is the lesser evil compared to Floyd's other options.
It WOULD have been a great win back before Pac beats the **** out of Cotto, but nope. This Cotto is a "great" win like how Pac won against Mosley.
You might argue, hey, Floyd is fighting him at 154.
But who has Cotto fought at 154?
If Cotto fought Martinez at 154 and won, then this fight would be AWESOME.
But no. It will be up to floyd to hype this fight up, and his fans are already doing it for him.
Sry Floyd. I can't keep you fighting B and C level fighters and making millions again.
I hope this fight does bad so that he would have no choice BUT to face Pac next.
But knowing his fans, and Cotto's fans, this fight will make a ton of money.
R.I.P Pac vs Mayweather 2012.

Even in that fight margarito was starting to get his licks in until they stopped the fight.
Cotto is no longer cotto and floyd gets as much credit as Pac gets credit for beating shane mosley. Cotto is nowhere near top 10 p4p and is on his way to becoming the next erik morales. Cotto is past prime.
What's more concerning is floyd fighting at 154.
Can he no longer make 147? Is it just for the cotto fight? Or is it something more devious and conniving like making the weight higher for a future pac fight. Floyd can say i fought last at 154 and if we are going to have a pac fight its going to have to be above 147. I choose the latter as Pac and Roach have publicly stated several times that they wont be going above 147 anymore.
Another roadblock thrown up by Floyd preventing the fight we all want.

Well besides beating Cotto at 154 after Cotto destroyed Margarito. Yeah, I think it holds some weight. It's nothing like a Hagler fight but it still garners some credibility.

For me, beating Pacquaio proved to me the weight wasn't an issue.
Is is ideal for him? No.
But can he perform to a top, world class level there? He sure as hell proved he can.
