If im not mistaken manny has taken the same amount of damage as cotto has and look where he is at. Why is it a problem that floyd is fighting cotto with 2 losses(beatings) but manny has been in more wars then cotto????????

I would've preferred Floyd and Cotto fighting at 147 when the fight really mattered. But guess what ...?

Don't get it twisted. EVERYBODY knows Arum kept Cotto away from Floyd because Cotto was green.

EVERYBODY knows Floyd would beat Cotto any day, all day at 147. No doubt, Cotto would put on a good effort. May have gone all 12.
But even Arum knew the deal back then.

Apparently, Cotto has broken away from Arum's grip, hence the fight now being made.

At 154, Cotto holds a title belt and is coming off WINS and not LOSSES.

And you can bet they won't fight at no catch-weight.

Apparently, Cotto feels comfortable at 154 to boldly state he can beat Floyd.

Still, 147 would've been the ideal weight for the match.

This is a legit win. Cotto is a dangerous fight for Mayweather.

Make sure you don't change your tune after the fight and say Cotto was done after the Manny fight.

The proper thing would be most, most everyone, almost everyone or something like that.

The only absolute thing about talking in absolutes is that you will absolutely end up wrong.

So if he wasn't elite back then, IMO he's far from that now.
To me he would be pretty much the same. 5 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago or 1 year ago I would expect Floyd to punk Cotto in the same fashion~ he was never what people made him out to be in terms of being that level of guy, but he is still a good representation of what he was a very good fighter.

Cotto cannot make 147 today he said it himself quoting he would be sacrificing his body again to make that weight , he cant go up at his stage and then go back again , the added weight stays and is near impossible to remove .

Good fight if it's above 147.
