Yeah I know, that's typical bob arum preventing the fights that should happen from happening.

Most of the fights that should be happening in the sport of boxing but aren't are a result of bob arum. Either it's him protecting someone (chavez jr for example) or him not working with Golden Boy or really any other promoter, and steering his star fighters clear of high risk fights.

Does anyone give Arce more than a 1% chance of beating Donaire? The hell is the point in that fight? The hell is the point of Vazquez?

garcia is nonito's trainer but he doesn't choose donaire's opponents...the guy is merely expressing his personal opinion. and even if it turns out true, rigo was never mentioned as future opponent for donaire. rigo's name only started to surface after he beat ramos and he called out donaire after the fight.

You must be a Donaire fan. I can't believe you of all people on here are giving Donaire a pass for potentially not fighting the best guy at 122.

Read Donaire's twitter and what he re-tweeted from other people. He sure seems to have ZERO interest in fighting Rigo. And the fact that Bob Arum, who promotes both, doesn't even mention them fighting speaks volumes.

Just after the Rigo-Ramos fight, someone posted Nonito's "tweets" about not having seen the bout and to please not ask him about it because he was focusing on Vazquez. Then someone posted several other "tweets" that seemed to make Donaire out to be a liar, that he had indeed seen the fight.

I don't know what the real story is, but it appears that Nonito indeed knows who Rigo is and wants to avoid the question of fighting him, at least for now. This could simply be because he doesn't want to be distracted, but it's natural that some people might think Donaire's camp are already trying to avoid "El Chacal." There's some evidence of that.

Just because he wasn't in their plans initially means that Nonito shouldn't fight him??? C'mon!!!

yes it's a good fight and boxing fans would love to see that fight but you have to realize that in boxing, fans don't get to see the fight they want to see all the time. there's the promoter factor which is really the biggest consideration on which fights happen. actually donaire-rigo should be an easy fight to make because they're both under top rank but business is business and arum will do what he thinks is best for his business.

it's his money on the line and he's never concerned about what fight fans want to see.

Agreed. I think my last post applies here, too.

I surely hope so. I want him to fight Arce then Abner then Moreno then Juanma/Gamboa first before he fights Rigo.

i'm not giving him a pass...i like to see that fight but donaire has an upcoming fight so it's too early to speculate about who ducking who. donaire is in a quandary because everybody wants to fight him. he fights this guy and people will say he's ducking the other guy ffs. and then you have the promoter factor which donaire really can not control.
