9 fights now a whole lot of time to make a name.

In time he will be a bigger name.

Rigo brings nothing to the table except that he is indeed a big threat for a no name.

that's garcia talking though. really even before rigo beat ramos, arum was already talking about arce, nishioka, juanma and gamboa as future opponents for donaire. rigo's name was never mentioned.

I agree with you though. I just also don't see the point in fighting the loser of Vasquez-Arce. Down the road, the hardcore Donaire haters will lable that fight as "Well, he fought Wilfredo Vasqeuz, which was a decent win, but Vasquez had just been beaten by Arce just prior to that fight".
          Based on resume? no

based on potential and skills? maybe even #3.

But your acting like as if he didnt fight Rigo then hes a fraud?

Its not like the remaining list of potential fighters arent just as threatening.

Nishioka (never seen him fight, ill watch some of this vids this week)
maybe Gamboa at 126, prolly not though.
Mares, i dont think hes that good but hey its something.
Juanma? well find out after Salido whats he has left.

I agree with this statement, although I do think Martinez probably belongs above Donaire.

Nonito is having his first fight at 122 in a couple weeks and his handlers and trainer are already mapping out their plan to avoid Rigo. They said they aren't even considering fighting Rigondeaux. The f**k you call that????
rigo was never in their plan in the first place especially after his lackluster performance against cordoba. it's only garcia who is talking who doesn't really make the decision who donaire fights. donaire has not said anything because he has a fight coming up.

No he's not, but he should fight Rigo. I don't see why he shouldn't. They can't say Rigo is a no name, because they fought Narvaez.

If he's going to fight 2-3 times at 122, why not fight Rigo???

There's a ton of good fights for Nonito, but Rigo should be one of them.

Yea i agree i would put Martinez above as well since he got both criterias down.

However im not like his recent choices of opponents lately. Dont blame him though hes getting old and need to get a big fight soon. Donaire is still young, he got time to make a big splash.

Well I guess we'll see. But there's no way you can say that Nonito shouldn't fight Rigo, being completely logical of course.

Just because he wasn't in their plans initially means that Nonito shouldn't fight him??? C'mon!!!
