What does that have to do with anything? You claimed no one would care about their opposition if they were from Oklahoma. O'Grady is from Oklahoma. He sports an incredible 81-5 career record with 70 ko's. So if we're to take your statement as truth you should have no problem explaining why O'Grady isn't mentioned amongst the greatest lightweights.

I wasn't generalizing. Pacquiao is popular despite not being American because he's fighting there and has American promoters. In Klitschko's case they're not popular because they're neither born Americans nor fighting out of America.

To simplify it: Only because there is one American fighter that wasn't popular (as you put it) it doesn't mean there are no fighters that don't get the credit they deserve because they're not American.Last edited by Superflo777; 01-23-2012, 05:30 AM.Comment

Pacquiao is popular all over the world because he is exciting and has a fantastic resume. How popular would he be if he fought only B level fighters and never had wins over fighters like JMM, MAB, Morales, Hatton, DLH, Cotto and Mosley? I'd say about as popular as he was in about 2000, 2001. Has nothing to do with nationality, thats just an excuse the die hards need to believe in to rationalize why not everybody worships at the house of Klit the same way they do. Bottom line is resume most certainly IS important. If it weren't guys like O'Grady and LaMarr Clark would be ranked amongst the best fighters ever in their respective divisions.Comment

Byrd(rematch), Lewis(rematch), Rahman, Ruiz & Toney.
How can you be refered to as a great fighter, and placed in league with great fighters when you're not even proven against great fighters? That makes no sense, bro.I'd have to go over my list again but between seeing who I do have, their opponents and having gone over countless articles from the day I believe my opinion is an educated one if not an expert one. V is a great fighter, his quality of competition just doesn't hold up to the true greats. I think he's an all time threat at heavy, but that's simply not able to be proven.
Refering to Vitali as a great fighter and in the same breath acknowledging that he has beaten nothing but shit tier opposition is about as oxymoronic as it gets. There's just no justification for calling a Vit "a great fighter" with a resume as sub-par as his. He has stoppage losses to the only 2 decent opponents he's ever faced. That's not evidence of a great fighter.
Vitali is steroid abusing cheater and a glass hearted quitter. There's nothing manly about being a quitter and a cheater.Comment

Wladimir has a decent chin his chin is as good as Lewis' chinThe thing I love about Vitali is he fights 3 x a year minimum. Respect. Not many guys at the top of the game do that anymore. I enjoy Vitali more than I do Wladimir. The only exciting thing to watch with Wladimir is to see if his chinny chin chin will hold up one more fight lolComment

Pacquiao was NEVER popular in Europe, except maybe a little in the UK. In continental Europe, he is completely unknown to >99% of the population.

He totally just pulled it out of his ass, but to be fair Pacquiao is really only popular in countries with large populations of Filipinos abroad. As far as Europe goes, there aren't any countries I can think of that meet those criteria.Comment
