You can sue if the comments are fabricated and the news agency refuses to make a retraction. News agencies and newspapers get sued all of the time.

I doubt that there are any contractual obligations. But, are there any legal obligations to fight on that date?

Meh...it doesn't matter anyways, since there's absolutely nothing wrong with the May 5th date. That's when the fight should take place.

Pretty sure an attorney wouldn't go to court without having written proof of contracts. What if the judge ask for proof of the obligations is he suppose to say just take my word for it?
