The US media is full of 1960s-era ******* sportswriter vets like Bert Sugar who idolize the man who did nothing but scorn them. The more Clay hated them, the more they loved him for it. ******** are often such masochists that way. They rewarded Clay by building this myth of him being the "Greatest," when, if you just want to go by wins and losses, it would seem Marciano was "the Greatest." But Rocky wasn't the right guy for the people in question to promote in an era of "progressive" politics.

And Marciano didn't just constantly run his mouth about being the best and insulting other races and his country. Had he done this he would be a bigot racist but Ali gets praised for being one. What a joke.

He did step on his foot but I have seen guys fall like that from body shots. Usually those are balance shots and not actual harmful ones. Either way, that guy wouldn't last a round with Wlad or Vitali if they didn't want him to.

Your right about Frazier not being a one-handed fighter. Had one of the biggest hearts and was one of the toughest I've ever seen in the ring. He isn't in the league of Holyfield though. He would have gotten pounded in a great fight against Holyfield. And ALI was mabe a hair faster but with single shots, not combinations. Holyfield was a faster combination puncher but ALI had quicker reflexes. Make sense? Kind of like Manny and Floyd. Manny is faster in combination but not with single shots. Floyd is quicker with single shots, but not in combination. I consider myself to be a Boxing purist man. I know the sport.

You're right about this statement besides the way over-rated part. Based on what is ALI over-rated? Mabe from a fan stand point but not as a fighter figure that the world had never seen at the time. He was brave, handsome, fast, and he didn't let the white man punk him. That was unheard of at the time. All of the things I just said help make him what he was, not to mention his stamina, legs, heart, chin, and ability to take pain like no other besides mabe Frazier. We all know the history between them. I myself believe that the greatest fighter I ever seen was Sugar Ray Leonard. Depends on who you ask and how unbiased they are. Right?

Ali disrespected his country for things any normal citizen would have accepted. At the time sports figures were treated like gods like they are today. He may have been mistreated before he got a name but that's no reason to turn your back on a coutry that made him what he was. He's a pile of crap as far as I'm concerned. He wasn't a political figure, he was just a coward. As far as boxing goes, he was challenged by and dropped by club fighters and while he has great wins and a great resume, most of the fighters he beat were only mentioned because they fought him. Otherwise, nobody would have ever heard of them.

Ali was faster with single shots, combinations, and foot speed. I don't even think this is debatable, man.


Please show me where Holyfield ever displayed this type of foot and hand speed.

Show many other boxing purist who claims Holyfield was faster than Ali in any way.


Ali did not fight anything like Mayweather. Ali threw combinations consistently.
