The issue that most genuine boxing fans have is that we can all see that Pac is being fed hand-picked opponents who are either well-faded or disadvantaged on the scales, and we can all see that Arum is blatantly protecting Manny from Mayweather in order to secure as many mega-payday's as-is humanly possible before taking what will obviously be a huge risk with Pacquiao's marketability.
" oh, but Arum is just doing his job "
" oh, but Pac is just doing what Arum states will be best for his career "
Fine, no problem, but you can forget about.....
* Manny only fights the best
* Manny has " cleaned out " the welterweight division
* Manny is an 8-division champion
* Manny is an ATG
* Manny will fight anybody, anywhere, anytime
Because, there is little evidence to support any of those claims, and plenty of evidence to the contrary.
You see the thing is this..... you cannot have your cake and eat it too, it does not swing both ways..... a fighter is judged on 1 thing, and 1 thing only..... who he fought, and when he fought them..... Pacquiao's "decisions" and his "timing" have been impeccable.
He just did exactly what Green and Lebedev are doing to Jones/Toney/etc.
So, Manny is an exciting all-action fighter, and he is rich.
Fine, no problem, I agree entirely..... but you can forget all that other stuff.
Manny has been fighting old men, faded champions, and bums..... and he has disadvantaging them on the scales and manipulating them contractually,
The Marquez " setup " that recently backfired is hilarious in hindsight.
Pac needs to step up to the plate, he needs to stop fighting old and disadvantaged opponents, and he needs to stop talking about Mayweather when it is plainly obvious that he is not willing to fight him.
Then, maybe I will resume buying his PPV's.
Thus we are lacking a person with a spine openly calling for a bout with Floyd, we don't have this in the "Pacquiao's an unquestionable badass scenario." What we have is a champion that does what he's told and openly desires little else. How do you have a fight without will?

Mannys best chance to beat floyd was back in 09-10 coming off the cotto win, that ship has long sailed, we are now in 2012 and manny at this point physically is just as old as mayweather if not older we all know floyd don't fight but once or twice every couple yrs it wouldn't matter if floyd was 37 imo pacquiao is getting past it an the wear and tear has set in fighting Giants at 5'6 takes its toll.. roach knows it and arum know it an that's why he's hesitant to cash out on him just yet when he can pocket another 50 mill off him instead of giving him 50 mil an watching him reitre its simple..

The last true ko Floyd signed was against Hatton. Manny is agressive but I don't think he will enter in suicide mode like Ricky did.lol
I see a UD for Mayweather but I could be wrong, everything is possible in boxing.

roach keeps talking about making a gameplan but mayweather has shown he can make adjustments in fights n when this happens roach/his fighter never seem 2 have an answer (marquez/pac and khan/peterson come 2 mind). I think floyds ability 2 adjust will play a major part if they ever do fight

You talk like you started to follow Pac in the last two years wich is the case of many so called boxing fan on this website.
Pac has beaten two HOFamers close to their prime (JMM and Barrera), the JMM fight was close but whatever, it's still a win.
He has at least won titles in 6 divisions (the 154 title is a joke).
He's in my opinion a true great fighter.
Oh I know, Floyd fought the great Ortiz, the young lion Mosley and a lightweight half his size, you guys are jokers, Floyd ain't doing better and hasn't done better in this sport
