An Hbo exec? Not so much.
Floyd turned down Stevie Johnston after Castillo because he only wanted big fights. Then he went on the dreadful 2003-05 run he had. A lot of what fighters say can sometimes be taken with a grain of salt.

I believe the 2nd negotiations took place. Not sure how far the negotiations went. but, was there some back and forth talk I believe so.

Greenburg has no reason to lie about that.

But, the fact is that it was Pac who walked away from first negotiations. He accepted Floyd OST demand, then demanded for the fight to be in March, and when Floyd accepted that, he started demanding cutoff dates. Floyd offer 14 days cutoff and that still wasn't good enough. And, Pac signed to fight Clottey of all people.

I think the 2nd negotiations happened like I said. Not sure why people believe it didn't or just automatically take Ellerbe word for it but whatever.

But, now it's on Pac to make the fight. Floyd has done his part to make sure the fight gets done. It's on Pac, no need to blame Arum. He is doing his job and doing what's best for his fighter. It's on Pac to demand that fight.

I think it's clear that Pac is ducking at this point if he doesn't man up and make sure this fight gets done.

I must say.....I am surprised to hear this from you man.

But, you must know that once Bob Arum keeps saying "We won't be ready on Mkay 5th, Manny's cut won't heel in time, we want to build a 40,000 seat stadium, so late May is better", and than Floyd picks another opponent......the same moronic people on here and the casual fans will once again start saying "Floyd is ducking, he picked another opponent, while Manny was out there", even though Arum and Pacquiao were never intending to fight Floyd on May 5th, 2012, which is Floyd's set in stone return date to fight.

What the f**k is wrong with May 5, 2012??? That's the million dollar question right now, and all we hear is crap about Manny's cut won't heel by the time April rolls around (even though Ward's cut was worse and it heeled in 4 weeks time) and about how Bob wants to build a 40,000 seat stadium. If it's not clear to people by now, I don't know what will make it clear to them.

Floyd announcing a date and site, pre-negotiating, without waiting to hear another offer, is just as ****** as what's going on today. They're all laughing to the bank.

Here it is again: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=5412488 It is what it is. You don't buy it. I do. Negotiations through intermediaries happen all the time in all range of businesses. It's not that hard to believe.
Please stop. In "business" (whatever that means), an intercessory is agreed upon by both parties prior to negotiation and then hired. This is because that person is paid by both parties to reach a deal (ie. the judge used to mediate the first negotiation). Mr. Greenburg, obviously brighter than the average NSB poster, was careful never to say that negotiations took place. He said he had been he had been in negotiation with someone from each side because he wanted to see the fight take place. Never once did he mention that serious negotiations were taking place between the two parties. Never once did he say he was a mediator, intercessory or even a middle man. Serious negotiations to you may mean the head of a network pleading with two sides to make the biggest fight ever so he and his colleagues can get paid. But please don't compare that to what's done in the world of capital markets. And you're right, I don't view refusing to sit down with a party (after you left the table), lying to the public that you did talk to them, placing a countdown clock on your website, and then holding a presser in the middle of the night as serious negotiations. I see it as a joke.

I just didn't expect to hear you say it's on Manny if the fight isn't made and that he's ducking. I just didn't expect it, that's all.

Why don't you explain why people shouldn't believe Ellerbe and Team Mayweather. What would be their motive for lying about negotiations taking place? It's not like they waited until after the fct to deny those talks, they denied that they were involved in any serious talks while those negotiations were supposedly ongoing. When the reports came out that talks were being had, Mayweather's team denied it immediately. Plus Mayweather had just told the world that he was taking another break and wasn't going to think about boxing for awhile. There was no real reason not to believe Ellerbe.
