Well any boxing fan will do that, not the PAC or May fans but The ones who will and have watched the sport before both guys came along or became popular.

For example, my nephew, prime example of a guy who is a fan of Mayweather and not of boxing, he even feels that Mayweather would beat any and everyone regardeless of WEIGHT class.

Like once he tried to argue that Mayweather could shoulder roll all,of a Prime Mike Tyson (hw) shots

We have a network exec trying to make a lucrative fight happen (ie. doing his job). Nothing else. Under no circumstances does that mean serious negotiations were ever taking place between the two parties. I'll tell you what there is a precedent for though. Shane Mosley announced two days after the Pac-Margarito bout that he was next. It was adamently denied. Weeks later it came to fruition. Exactly what happened earlier, when Antonio Margarito declared he was next months before any announcement. This was denied too because Arum was "negotiating" with Golden Boy, and the issue of testing "wasn't an issue" in spite of the other side saying otherwise and Arum's own admission that they still wanted a cut-off. We saw what happened next. The idea that this, to go along with Arum then admitting he never spoke to GBP; the silly deadline, website clock and midnight presser, somehow amounts to "serious negotiations" is, in the words of Elmer Fudd, "incontheivable."
You're stuck on the word "serious" (yours, not mine). All I said was May's side claimed no negotiations took place. I think there is enough there to say they did and they were serious enough (to borrow your word) for the head of HBO Sports to come out and say they took place for close to two months. HBO makes fights all the time. None of this is inconceivable. The outline of a deal has been done since round one of talks.

Actually that was your word initially, not mine (see above). No doubt a "technical" oversight? You've done nothing but show that a network exec did everything in his power to make the fight. If you somehow convinced yourself that this means "serious talks" were done between both parties then run with it.

Lol I caught it because it was quite a bold statement in light of the facts. Ah well...same Arum, same lies. And we agree that the onus is on Manny to make the fight. I think we know how this one ends.

Yeah. They both fight after one or both loses and needs a cash out. Who cares really at this point? A 33-year old and 35-year old who should be getting to fight III instead of I sucks.

Bring back prime Pernell. He knew how to not only be P4P but BE ABOUT P4P.

In all reality, Floyd and Manny probably should have fought there first fight in March 2010, the rematch in early 2011, and the 3rd in 2012. If this was the 1970's, that's how it would have happened.

Although I don't think Manny beats Floyd even once, but that's just me.

It takes two to tango. I have no doubts that the Pacquiao fight was the reason why Floyd Mayweather returned to the ring in 2009. He announced his unretiring the day of Pacquiao-Hatton. He selected Pacquiao's nemesis as his first opponent. He spoke of fighting him non-stop, offering step-aside money to Marquez if Manny would take the fight. His willingness was supported by an unbiased judge who called out Top Rank for lying immediately following negotiation. He called him out by name again a week before Pac-Marquez III, demanding the fight if, in fact, Pacquiao was willing to be tested as he told everyone and their mother he would. It takes two to tango. And one guy refuses to get off the wall.
