Why isn't Ward popular in America?

You people keep ignoring the fact that Ward hasn't been on HBO which besides his style is the biggest factorComment

Some people think Mayweather is boring..... explain that oneDespite Ward having by far the strongest resume at 168 and winning the S6 and DOMINATING his opponents with ease why isn't he a superstar in America?
I think it has to do with his race, Yeah definitely his race. There is just something about a black American from America that Americans don't like.
Please don't call him boring cause that'll just make you a racist in my book!
But yeah its because he holds and manipulates his opposition towards the ropes and nulifies there work with messy close quarter pitty pat punches
Oh and if you mean why is he boring mainstream? well he hasn't knocked anyone out in a while so that doesn't help him either
People want to see classy boxing not head and forearm in face actionComment

george foreman, a preacher mind yous, played amazing grace, before he knocked out michael moorer for the heavyweight titleMayweather is the total package and people can't see this.
Floyd's personality, style, ring entrances, etc are all part of his villain-like persona. Villains sell.
Andre Ward is not a villain, the complete opposite, he's a devoted Christian, well-wisher even to those who speak ill of him, and his style is that of a boxer who really doesn't want to hurt any one, just does it as a sport. Just score points, win rounds. Doesn't look to me like he goes out there and tries really hard to get the KO or swing for the fences.Comment

IMO lack of promotion, weightclass people aren't too familiar with, fighting on showtime & because Boxing isnt one of the top sports here in america are several reasons why he gets no love but IMO if you put those skills and that fighter with a UK, Phillipines, Puerto Rico or Mexico flag or country behind him and you got yourself a very popular fighter at this very moment. I'm just saying, IMO it seems to take longer here in america to get fans behind a fighter.Comment
