well...so I guess that clip is useless and pointless then. No one can comment on it. Why did they put it up in the first place?? I do have the feeling that if I came on here and said how awesome he looked people would be happy to agree...even though it was only 15 seconds...(and again, I was commenting on the 15 seconds I saw as compared to the description of it that I read 5 seconds before I watched it. People on here do not seem to understand that aspect of it all)
They arent all necessarily AWESOME just because they DIDNT get a shot...

You can't really make a legit judgement of how he was in the ring off that, can you?well...so I guess that clip is useless and pointless then. No one can comment on it. What if the only footage we had of Mayweather was Round 2 of the Mosley fight? Could we judge how he was in the ring off just that? Not if you're not a moron.
And TheGreatA posted that exact footage you are referring to in the History Section a few weeks ago and no one said how 'Awesome' it was. Just that we wish there was more footage of him.
So that point is utterly moot.Comment

no , it is not "utterly moot" LOL...I said IF I posted it AND talked about how great he looked I would get agreements...but in any event, it seems like all u want to do is argue and be combative...its like I am insulting ur dad or something, man...Comment

This is particularly true when it comes to the Klitschko's.This is true throughout history , if you look at at many old fight tapes of supposed legends they just dont look that good , I see this as much a part of human nature to glorify things over time , to make their deeds bigger and better as if they get better over the years like wine .
I think in any era there is trend in sport similar to the tall poppy syndrome that actually belittles the current champions and rises the good ol day champs above them , I think its more evident today because of the internet .
I think the modern days greats would destroy many of the olden day champs but history wont recognize it until they are history .
Its a mad mad world .
And then there is Mayweather. Anyone who is winning for a long period of time.Comment

This is how Message Boards work. You introduce a topic with a statement or argument for/against something, and we debate it.So I cant watch a clip of a boxer in action and then compare him and his output in that clip to other fighters Ive seen, I cant make a decision based on the action Ive seen? You implying that I cannot or shouldnt is the ignorant statement here, my man. Also, surely you underdtand saying "thousands" is like saying "gazillions"...its to make a point...so relax because at the end of the day I REALLY DONT GIVE A ***** HOW GOOD THE GUY WAS OR WASNT...its a boxing message board and I figured I would bring up a point...I like message boards and all but some people discuss boxing and they lose their minds, its like they are somehow taking criticism or opoinions that difer from theirs as personal attacks...relax...its a boxing message board and from what I see I stand by statements and you can stand by yours. I dont want to argue over my OPINION.
It's not for you to make a statement and everyone agreeing because you're a high profile trainer.Comment

NoNo, no, Cupocity, what I mean is, Im saying that I and everyone can come here and make statements, comment on vids, etc...that is the point of the board...I dont want or need everyone to agree with me, thats not realisitic, but I shouldnt expect people to act like I shouldnt post my thoughts here...I mean, some of these guys seem to think that if I dont agree with their point then it isnt worth putting up...if they want to believe Williams, etc was great then thats their choice...I just say he wasnt showing the great things the description of the one vid I saw led me to believe he would...Comment

And generally I agree with you. I use the same line of argument when debating The Klischko's, by pointing out that these Golden Age Heavyweights aren't as good as they make them out to be, and greatness was spread around because they all beat each other in competitive Triology's & rematches. If Vitali was in a triology today, he'd be labeled a bum instead of the other bum getting Joe Frazier status. No

But thats the true though Mayweather is the most overrated fighter. Weak resume, ducks the best out there yet proclaims he is the best around. So you are correct in your statement that he is regarded as so in different mediums.
I dont agree with the ones who say Jones ******, because he is one of the most skilled fighters of all time period. BUT now he sucks because he's fighting way past his time but oh well.
AND btw why is Ice getting attacked like he just stole the popes robe lol. It's his opinion, whatever.Comment

Surprised that after 8 pages nobody had posted the clip in question. Here it is:
I know the person who "uncovered" the footage and the person who wrote the article as well. Even he would admit that he was quite "hyped" and probably jumped into conclusions after seeing a film that he did not know even existed of a fighter that he had researched for years.
Realistically you can't make many judgements based on 15 seconds of footage, unless it's of the fighter getting KO'd in one round or something. We can see Williams throwing some combinations and not looking terrible atleast.Comment
