Mayweather is not the most "Anything Ever", you silly goop, along with all the other immature silly goops. There are literally dozens of fighters in the past who could eat him raw, and swallow him whole. As has been mentioned before, in the 1920's 30's and 40's there were twice as many boxers registered in New York City as there are now in the whole world.

And, considering that there were only 8 weight classes with same day weigh-in, a fighter who would hold the title for 2-3-4-5-6 years or more, and would have had over 100 fights doing it, would have to have been one hell of a fighter. Nowadays, in "Mayweather time" if a fighter pulls a muscle or strains an ankle, the fight is postoned. Then they fought through it and had 15-20 rd title fights.

There is no reason why Mayweather wouldnt thrive under the old rules. For one he would benefit from 15-20 round fights due to his conditioning and his economic style. Second he only weighs in a few pounds more the next day so same day weigh ins are no big deal. His skill and natural athleticism would make him one of the top fighters in any era. Its great that there were many more fighters in NY in the 1920s but how many of those guys had a day job and boxed at night? The vast majority of them.
