His combination punching and footwork has also deteriorated over the years, unfortunately. His defense has improved, however... though that can be because not punching so much leaves him less open. His ring IQ has got better, as it always does over the years for intelligent fighters, and his speed and reflexes have declined somewhat.

However, 130 Floyd is probably the most well-rounded. Competition would be Salvador Sanchez... I'd say they're about equal.
your comparing sanchez with Mayweather? Not even close!!!! Mayweather is the best P4P, most well-rounded fighter ever!!! Never seen Mayweather losing in any of his fights. sanchez was getting schooled by 13 fight "veteran" Azumah Nelson who had never gone past 8. Weak comparison!

He is right now close to a pure counter-puncher you can get to after Toney in his prime, but he can adapt extremely well to his opponents
Would that not speak to how well rounded he is?

Azumah Nelson was a great fighter, and Sanchez was winning on the scorecards up until the fifteenth, where he knocked him out. I don't understand what you're talking about.

Yeah, he's awesome at everything if you split it into stats, high up there anyway. Definitely not as versatile as some others though obviously. Some others throughout history:

Joe Louis, Marvin Hagler, Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Ezzard Charles, Mike Spinks, Thomas Hearns, Sal Sanchez.

I'm comfortable saying he's the most well rounded fighter of his generation, no way am I going to say of all time, that's just ridiculous.

From the boxers I've seen in my lifetime, he's definitely in top 3 most well-rounded fighters. You can barely see a weakness in his overall style.

I always felt Finito doesn't get the respect he deserves when talking about being one of the best well rounded fighters. Then again, he went unnoticed to the casuals throughout his entire career.

Floyd's up there.. I think I'd put Pernell ahead of him at this moment with maybe a few others

I agree, and man Ezzard Charles could do it all it seemed, transitioned from defense to offense so perfectly.

I'd also add Roberto Duran and Ricardo Lopez to that list. And some people may disagree but I always thought Pernell Whitaker was a freakishly complete boxer (his only flaw of course was his lack of power).
