Where is the cut of that is the point a lay of hurts you , its relative to your experience ,,, a beginner can be way out of timing in just a mth , sometimes weekly ,,,, a consummate pro HOF fighter at the end of his career wont be affected hardly at all , these guys train continually they dont need to fight every few mths this notion is one of those old wives tales within boxing folklore , how do you think Floyd can fight a couple of fights in 4 years a jail term and still box the brakes of somebody as skilled as Pac , ah sorry I ment JMM
.
Fight fitness is a term for pugs not elite champions .Last edited by Reloaded; 12-26-2011, 05:12 PM.Comment

The Mosley that Pac and May fought might not have been too far off, but they were not the same.
Biggest difference in my eyes was the right hand, or lack thereof. The last 2 significant right hands Mosley ever threw were in the Mayweather fight, and then Mayweather made sure he never used it again for 10 rounds.
After that he could chase and corner Mora but he could not let that right hand go and against Pacquiao he couldn't do much other then jab and move.
I will say this though, neither one of them faced a prime Mosley, but then again they didn't really face a prime DLH either.Comment

I always wonder why people say boxing is a dying sport. Then I read post like this and think that maybe its not boxing but the quality of people watching it. This post just further proves that.Comment

That wasn't my argument. Mayweather gets more credit for his win, deservedly so. But people rank that win up there as his best or 2nd best WW win, while we all know what people think of Pac's Mosley win. I don't get it. It was the same guy, loss and draw or not, one win shouldn't be held in such high regard while the other is at the other end of the spectrum. Why don't I see the same people trashing Floyd's Judah win? Similar situation.
You are right on your opinion about Pac cherrypicking though. Floyd took a gamble and hit the jackpot, and that deserves some recognition. Maybe him and his team knew something we didn't.
I see it all the time. You're not looking hard enough.Comment

That's a good way of looking at it, in the bold.
I don't consider Mayweather's win over Mosley as great, I rate Mayweather's wins over Hatton, DLH as better wins, I always have. Nonetheless, it's a good win, a fight he was suppose to take at the time. Pacquiao's win over Mosley is shit.Comment

Maybe you're looking too hard. I don't even see anyone in this thread being as extreme as you're complaining about. Mosley could very well be one of Mayweather's best wins at WW. I think that you see Mayweather getting more credit for his win over Mosley as opposed to Pacquiao because of how he looked against Mosley compared to Pacquiao. Mayweather simply looked a lot better in the ring than Pacquiao did.Comment

The majority of people see the Mayweather win as one of his top 3 Welterweight wins, maybe even his best win there.Maybe you're looking too hard. The majority of people see the Pacquiao win as god awful.
Are you blind to this? People in this thread are actually being reasonable which I am actually pleasantly surprised by. That doesn't mean this reflects the opinions of the entire board, quite the opposite actually.Comment
