By the way POP she won her case against the former fighter's family, not the fighter himself.
She didn't win it as much as they lost it. They had no evidence, and even if the mysterious will had been produced, and she had no will herself, they wouldn't have got the money. On marriage, all former wills are void, and without a new will the laws of intestacy are used. In Candada (and most other civilized countries I think) the widow gets a third and the children, no matter how many, share the other 2 thirds.
Even if she's been proven guilty in a Canadian court of murder (a HUGE if) and was not allowed to profit from her crime, the assets would devolve on the next of kin, their child. The family never had any hope of getting a cent, except perhaps if the court gave them trusteeship over the child until the age of majority when they would probably be allowed an amount for their trouble. But, more likely the court would appoint a suitable trustee outside that family, which showed itself in a very bad light. I think their lawyer saw they were supid and greedy, and just took their money. He must have known they had no case.
Anyway, none of this matters.
