His lateral movement and in and out style are anything but standing and trading. You don't see pacquiao stand and trade very often at all...so obviously he isn't the best at what you're talking about.
For a Pac fight, that is toe to toe.
If you really want to see what toe to toe means D4, go watch Duran vs Palomino. That is toe to toe gold.

I don't think Tito's power is in Hearn's class
Pacquiao has great eyes in exchanger great at picking a perfect punch.
Vargas said once that he had spared with much bigger men and had never been hit like he had been hit by Trinidad. Hearns felt buzzes of electricity when he connected right.
You are right, the Durán fight was at a higher weight.
Trinidad's stamina was also great and much under appreciated. He was an amateur long distance runner when younger. He had the same power in round 12 as in round 1 (again, ask Vargas). His defeats came against bigger men in higher weights... exactly what Pac would face in either him or Hearns.

So Pac joins the 6'2" monster Barkley, 160 pound ATG Hagler and Ray Leonard the 5'11" boxer/puncher to stop Hearns?
How do you think he does it? Catches him with one single punch or an accumulation over the whole fight? Now, think about it for a moment. Does Pac accumulate enough punches and hit 6'1" brilliant boxer (much better than Mosley or Marquez) Thomas Hearns enough that he can stop him via accumulation or does Pac punch hard enough at 147 to do what no other fighter ever did.
Surely you're basing this stuff on what you know about Hearns right? I mean, you must have seen something at 147 apart from his lone loss against Ray Leonard there to say that Pac could stop him right? You must have seen him knocked down or hurt or staggered? Remind me again, because I can't recall, which fight at 147 would you point to to say that Thomas Hearns was weak chinned enough or slow enough, or easy enough to hit that Pac could stop him?
Leonard could only stop Hearns via exhaustion and had to walk through hell, and a detached retina to do so.
So, give us your reasons as to why you think Pac stops Hearns and how? I, for one, am looking forward to hearing it.
I personally think that Hearns hits him with a left to the body that doubles him over reasonably early (first two rounds) and then he goes downstairs for a bit before landing a right hand that drops him for a ten count.Last edited by BennyST; 12-06-2011, 08:14 AM.

Pac doesn't fight toe toe he uses in and out movement to hit and turn his usually slower opposition. He's not the best in boxing history at anything besides beating catchweight, slow, weight drained fighters.

When has Manny ever been a toe to toe fighter? I would say his style is more similiar to gamboas in that both ambush their opponents and then hop out when their done with a flurry.

LOL Pac is not even toe to toe fighter, he's a quick in & out fighter. Even Cotto got the best of Pac on the inside with uppercuts that snapped his head back. It's only when Pac stepped back to create some room that he had success. TS doesn't even know Pac that well.

no one can beat pac toe to toe, his speed, power and chin are too much for anyone to handle
couple in the fact that hes also one of the most skilled boxers and counterpunchers if he needs to be, and its no wonder hes #1 p4p and fighter of the decade
