Was misleading the thread title asks a different question to the poll

Can anyone in boxing history win a fire fight with Manny Pacquiao?

Is Pacquiao the best toe to toe fighter in history?

I didn’t even read the poll question until after I voted I just presumed it would be the same question as the thread title. So take one vote out from yes and put it into no.

I could name a good few boxers from 135+ that I would favour in a fire fight with Manny prime for prime.

How do you think he does it? Catches him with one single punch or an accumulation over the whole fight? Now, think about it for a moment. Does Pac accumulate enough punches and hit 6'1" brilliant boxer (much better than Mosley or Marquez) Thomas Hearns enough that he can stop him via accumulation or does Pac punch hard enough at 147 to do what no other fighter ever did.

Surely you're basing this stuff on what you know about Hearns right? I mean, you must have seen something at 147 apart from his lone loss against Ray Leonard there to say that Pac could stop him right? You must have seen him knocked down or hurt or staggered? Remind me again, because I can't recall, which fight at 147 would you point to to say that Thomas Hearns was weak chinned enough or slow enough, or easy enough to hit that Pac could stop him?

Leonard could only stop Hearns via exhaustion and had to walk through hell, and a detached retina to do so.

So, give us your reasons as to why you think Pac stops Hearns and how? I, for one, am looking forward to hearing it.

I personally think that Hearns hits him with a left to the body that doubles him over reasonably early (first two rounds) and then he goes downstairs for a bit before landing a right hand that drops him for a ten count.

Excellent post. The other thing people are missing here, and it's very important is the fact that Hearsn would only get very tired in rds 13, 14 and 15. Imagine a 147 pound Hearns, with no same day weigh in fighting for 12 rounds. What WW ever would beat that??? Maybe SRR???

Could you imagine Manny trying to use the same left hand lead he used against cotto on hearns. The sight would be almost comical.

Scary to think but one thing is for sure id be scratching my head to think of guys that could beat Hearn’s with today’s rules i don’t have to think anywhere near as hard to come up with a list i would favour over Manny. (and that list wouldnt be short)

I didn't bother reading the entire thread, but why has it turned into Pacquiao vs. Hearns? Even if it somehow turned out competitive, it wouldn't be a firefight at all.

I'm assuming some ****** Pac troll said Pacquiao would KO Hearns?

Don't put all Pac fans in the same category. There are Pac fans and there are *******s, I'm a Pac fan and TS is a *******.

Pacman is p4p the best fighter in the world. So great that the #2 Floyd ducked him in 2009 and accused him of PED usage without any proof at all.

Floyd Sr. Stated at the time:
Mayweather Jr has made clear that the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) will decide when the testing is carried out. All testing should be random up to the day of the fight, “I fail to realise the problem as both of us will be subject to these rules”.
Mayweather Sr, was asked about his recent statement of having reservations regarding his son fighting a southpaw. “It does not matter what stance Pacquiao fights, my son will never fight him”.
We know the results of everyone else who came in toe to toe with Pacquiao.

                      Oscar RTD8
                      Hatton KO2
                      Cotto TKO12
                      Diaz TKO9
Margarito TKO10 (after 10th the fight made no sense anymore)
Mosley TKO3 (Mosley ran for dear life after being floored in the 3rd)
