we all know margarito used hand wraps in 2008 hands down!! heres y!

Tony got caught trying to use illegal hand wraps right before his mosley fight, and at the time if u remember Tony was the big favorite and supposedly mosley was over the hill. that was the take on the fight i recall perfectly.
now rewind!!
july 2008 this was a huge fight and tony was the underdog going up against cotto who was the Young , Undefeated champ (33-0) and who was hurting his opponents. Now point is,,,,,,,,,,, you mean to tell me margarito tried to use illegal wraps against a supposed washed up Former champ in Mosley (at that time) and didnt use them against cotto who was Tonys biggest most dangerous fight of his carreer at that time????

thats not proof but its a damm good reason for me to believe he used them.

PAPA I been saying this for sooooo long!!! It's my single biggest argument to why Cotto was going to win this fight and to why I hated Margs and loved Cotto so much. ALL COMMON SENSE! He took a knee after not having anything left, which most boxers usually quit with something left, after taking plaster shots! **** that we all know it now.

cotto is just delusional,he got a good win props for that ,he beat up a badly injured guy who really had no buisness fighting this soon or maybe at all.Its a cheap win for cotto of sorts and the pacman fights prove hes totally full of shiaat ,COTTO GOT BEATEN UP 10X worse against pacman and stopped did he have bricks too???what delusions and what arrogance.coto still looks like he woulda wound up running out of gas and stopped by a washed up margs the eye excuse may or may not have saved cotto,the officials were far too eager to take care of cotto, to stop the fight when the margs was starting to change the momentum, Im not impressed at all.........cotto imn my book at least is still damaged goods and a 6 or 5 round fighter.And margs is just totally washed up too many beatings ,hes even slower and takes longer to get going its over for him,cotto will or can continue fighting bums but hes still a b class fighter to me.ALL u idiots with the handwrap shiaat please stop you are just delusional the way cotto looked in even this fights and previous fights,margs,clottey,pacman,foreman, proves he's simply not that good and was beaten soundly by a guys that made him wilt under sustained pressure just like it always happens to cotto,nothing new........

I agree with you that Cotto is probably a B class fighter. However, I believe that Margarito was a journeyman fighter until he discovered plaster of paris. I've said for years that he was using them in both Cintron fights, Williams,Martinez,Cotto fights and was caught in the Mosely fight. It's totally naive and hopeful to think a guy "just discovered" plaster of paris prior to the Mosely fight. There is no way on God's green earth that someone as slow and lumbering as Margarito makes it to the top of the game with pressure and a chin. Taking away his wraps took away his power . Making him a punching bag for fighters with boxing skill. Both Cotto and Margarito should retire and call it a night.

Bad thing about it cotto still didnt prove he got cheated on the first fight he still showed in spots he couldnt stand and trade willingly he had to be forced to trade he ran the whole fight which is uncharacteristic of him his face still was badly marked up and margo didnt get to him as much as last time for all the running only bad mark on margo face was the same eye that pacman damaged so even though margo isnt a great boxer he got the heart of a champion and i respect that everyday all day than a guy that suppose to be so pissed and come to the fight and run

It's funny cause according to u Cotto isn't exactly leading the pack at any significant world class boxing level, but yet he has managed to SELL OUT the Garden plenty of times..On the regular the holds 17,943 seats for a boxing match at the main arena & there's a section that adds a couple of thousands more seats that they open for ONLY SPECIAL OCCASIONS & for cards where Cotto is headlining that section has been opened TWICE!!(against Judah & now against Marg)This time there were 21,239 seats sold of mostly Boricua fans!! Before that it has ONLY been opened for Heavyweight matches like Lewis vs Holyfield & Ali.At the weigh in alone there over 5,000 fans & thousands more outside!!& Cotto makes MILLION'S every time he fights & is a sure candidate for the Hall of Fame.Not bad for what u consider an insignificant fighter..& what's even funnier in Cheato fans is that if Marg would have won, then the fight would have had a LOT of significance & they would have been glorifying another victory over a Boricua, but cause he lost(badly) then now the fight has NO meaning, typical in u guys!!

Dan, it is only to the unfortunately prolific imbeciles that he is regarded as having tainted his career. His career WAS tainted it's true, but by his trainer, not by him. He was found not to be at fault for the used gauze strip found in the centre of his knuckle pad, but was penalised solely, as the Commission documant declared "because you are the head of the team". They compromised by penalising him with the least allowable penalty, because several of the Commission were against penalising him at all, but had to comply with the rules.

It is still, and likely always be, a mystery as to why the trainer, who made the pads, put a used "slightly stiffened in spots, as if having been wet" (as described by the first Commissioner to hold the gauze strip) strip of gauze in the centre of a pad made of new gauze as prescribed. There was no scientific reason of any possibility of it causing damage, and there seems no explanation.

I can give a silly explanation myself, that Capetillo, was superstitious, and perhaps thought that there might be some old Mayan mystic qualities about incorporating a used pad. Since George Foreman is documented as having employed a local top witchdoctor in Zaire to lay anti-spell spells all over and under the ring for his Ali fight, all I can say it it's not 100% impossible.....maybe 99.999%
