It happens all the time. Normally a fighter gets his footing back and the ref breaks them up. From that position, Hopkins couldn't hit Dawson and vice versa.

Before Hopkins got a chance to plant his feet however, Dawson shoved him off while also picking Hopkins up with his glove behind his leg.

He fouled him. Shoving isn't clean in this sport.
It's not a foul, no more than Hopkins lunging. I mean if that was a foul, Klitschko vs Haye should have been an NC, Cotto did the same thing to Clottey and no foul was called. But like you said, it happens all the time in boxing.

just to clarify, that is illegal, right? all because "fighters do it all the time", don't make it right. . . why should dawson have to let hopkins get away with what he has in the past? dawson wasn't having it, and shrugged him off. . . watch COTTO vs. CLOTTEY - EXACT same situation. . .

you're making it as if dawson PICKED HIM UP and swooped his leg in some sort of MMA type fashion; this is wrong. . . Even if Dawson did shove him a little bit, or "Exaggerate" the shrug off out of anger - he still did NOTHING WORSE than what hopkins was trying to do.

Im a fan of both fighters and keeping it real. . . Hopkins was injured - but Hopkins brought the injury upon himself. It's boxing - it happens, it's happened before, and it will happen again.

Hopkins initiated the foul, he’s known for being a dirty fighter and Dawson had every right to get him off his back. Hopkins is also known for making a big deal out of the slightest foul committed against him. He was trying to wear Dawson down, he does it all the time, this time it backfired. He initiated it.

Whether he was faking or not no one knows, he has a reputation for milking these things though. He’s had an MRI done now, lets see if he posts the results on twitter like he did the pointless piece of paper a Dr filled in using information given to him by Hopkins.....

If Hopkins hadn't had a history of this (see the Jones, Calazaghe fights) I personally wouldn't question it. Clearly in both of those fights he was taking a breather.

It's funny it's ok for 'Nard supporters to allow him to skirt the rules for years
          • "Hitting with the hand opposite the referee's side during a clinch and while the refer is separating the fighters"
          • Hitting the opponent on the hips during clinches to take away their punches impact in later rounds.
          • "Leading with his head after his right hand lead to prevent counters"
          • "Deliberately initiating clinches first (not punches) to lull a fighter" (more of a tactic but definitely NOT boxing)

If you know boxing, you see these ALL the time with Hopkins

It's clearly fine for him to do these tactics and don't get me started outside of the ring. "You're not a gangsta (yawn) because you're from Connecticut".

Well looks like the EX CON is the one who went out like "b!tch" since he's so keen on labeling people based on "race" (the "White boy" won) and location (the country guy-Taylor and the Connecticut guy also won)

Sounds like, "reaping what you sow"
Brilliant post. I posted earlier saying I completely agree with Dawson. Come back online and I'm scrolling through all these ****ers defending BHOP and then I read your post. THE TRUTH

The fight ****** period no body would want to see the rematch unless it's on regular HBO.

I think Dawson would've ended up winning that fight.

I saw a foul and i'm unbiased as a fan of both fighters. I think it should be ruled a no contest and there should be a rematch.

Based on what i seen it was going be a be a competitive fight.

Regarding the Cotto - Clottey fight, Cotto should of been called for a foul but the ref decided against it.
