    I can't understand people who are mad at Dawson. He came out to fight;
Dawson was on the run from the beginning. Wasn't this the guy who said
that if Dawson wanted a fight there would be a fight? Well, Dawson was
there, Hopkins wasn't. Lunging and jumping on Dawson's back was a tactic.
Eventually he would've fallen down and would've claimed he couldn't continue.

Hopkins should be forced to retire....and he should surrender his purse, too.

I agree with the part about people being mad at dawson. . . he was doing his thing. . . Hopkins tried to clinch up dawson and use his dirty tactics on the inside, and Dawson responded in kind. . . Even if Dawson did shove him (which i don't think he really did), he simply MET ILLEGAL TACTICS (clinching) with ILLEGAL TACTICS. . . Why is Hopkins allowed to do his thing, but Dawson not allowed to try to prevent Hopkins from doing so? If Dawson didn't shrug him off, Hopkins would have clinched him up (ILLEGAL), and used his forearm to push on Dawson (LLEGAL)

I DO THINK HOPKINS was hurt, though. . . and I'm not discrediting either figher - I jsut think it's one of those things that can happen in boxing. . . Hopkins tactics backfired on him, he got himself injured, and unfortunately the rules of boxing state that it's counted as a TKO. . . It ****** to see Vitali lose his titles and 0 to Chris Byrd, and it sucks to see Hopkins lose his titles to Dawson. . . But it is what it is. . .

And Dawson is a ***** for taking on an old man, running out of ideas within 2 rounds and dumping the old man on the ground out of frustration.

What a great fighter. Future HOFer for sure.

I guess people who are "pro" Hopkins clearly didn't see that his predicable right hand lead was slipped by Dawson and his momentum carried him onto Dawson's back. Yeah Chad definitely dumped him but no where near to the extent that Hopkins exagerrated it.

If Hopkins hadn't had a history of this (see the Jones, Calazaghe fights) I personally wouldn't question it. Clearly in both of those fights he was taking a breather.

It's funny it's ok for 'Nard supporters to allow him to skirt the rules for years
            • "Hitting with the hand opposite the referee's side during a clinch and while the refer is separating the fighters"
            • Hitting the opponent on the hips during clinches to take away their punches impact in later rounds.
            • "Leading with his head after his right hand lead to prevent counters"
            • "Deliberately initiating clinches first (not punches) to lull a fighter" (more of a tactic but definitely NOT boxing)

If you know boxing, you see these ALL the time with Hopkins

It's clearly fine for him to do these tactics and don't get me started outside of the ring. "You're not a gangsta (yawn) because you're from Connecticut".

Well looks like the EX CON is the one who went out like "b!tch" since he's so keen on labeling people based on "race" (the "White boy" won) and location (the country guy-Taylor and the Connecticut guy also won)

Sounds like, "reaping what you sow"

I will have to admit that I don't know a lot about Dawson. With that said I have not heard much about him having a reputation for being a dirty fighter. However, I know Hopkins is prone for flopping with exaggerated low blows etc. So, it is really simple, Bhop cried wolf one to many times and he got eaten by the wolf.

I seem to recall a lunging Englishmen who never heard of defense leading with his head first only to be met continually by lead right hands. But thats another topic since the ending had NOTHING to do with that right??

Chad's hand was behind Bhop's leg for only a moment. And by the time Bhop went down Chad had already dropped his hand and it was no longer behind Bhop's leg. Therefore it was never really a hindrance to Bhop and it had nothing to do with him falling. And if Hopkins had not tried to get a piggy back ride from Chad he would have never been pushed off. Also, if Bhop really wanted to fight on, you surely could not tell that by him flopping around on the floor.
