As I just posted before I saw your mail, the canvas had been thickly padded for years to avoud injuries, especially head injuries. It would be hard to dislocate a shoulder on the canvas, how often does it happen. I know of only 2 instances, this one and a fake one by the same Hopkins years ago against Robert Allen where he tried to get a win by DQ, just like a grudge match, tonight. He didn't get it so he fought on and won, it was typical Hopkins fakery.

I bet he was disappointed and will try to win or declare an NC in the commissioner's office.

I know, I saw that fight with Robert Allen, and Robert was winning that fight before Hopkins inexplicably hurled himself out the ring. I thought he had faked that one as well.

Listen, I don't like Hopkins. I respect his skills, but I can't respect someone who has made several racist remarks, and who has broken long time relationships, like the one with Fisher. He man justn';t have very good qualities.

this result will get changed, in my opinion. the ref was a noob and totally stuffed up. this fight never appealed in the first place other than they had a common opponent. bad style match up for both.

Salute to Chad Dawson...HE CAME TO FIGHT! He didn't give a damn about the Title which is why he was SO ANGRY!

well from the very first Bell...HE WAS COMING FORWARD and looking to ENGAGE and clearly came to FIGHT AND PROVE A POINT...

I hate to say it...but I think B-Hop was faking...but I am sure GBP will get Positive X-Rays or what ever to try and make B-Hop look good...either way if he continues to fight HE SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO FIGHT ON PPV AGAIN!

thats a fair example, but those injuries are caused directly due to the other fighter. same with elbows. Dawson did nothing to directly cause Hopkins' injury other than shrug off a clinching Hopkins.

if you fall and hurt yourself in a boxing match, yes, its a TKO loss for you.

He was so willing to continue that he stayed on the canvas qith a grimaced look on his face. Ca mon, man, even if he did hurt his elbow who makes that pained look on his face. My little kid makes that face. He was acting.

As someone who has suffered shoulder injuries (dislocation and separation), an awkward landing like the one B-Hop suffered however benign it may initially appear can dislocate or at the very least dislodge the shoulder. The man is nearly 50, so a fall that one of us could easily withstand could do be more dangerous to him. Personally, I don't think Dawson's shove/tackle was that serious of a foul, but to rule the match a TKO is pretty embarrassing. Everyone here is saying that B-Hop looked bad in the fight, but I disagree the fight was slowly developing and both fighters were feeling each other out...I think that eventually Chad would have become frustrated at his inablilty to catch Hopkins and that Hopkins would have rolled to a decision victory. Hopefully, the powers that be will overturn this match and we can see a real fight between both of these skilled athletes. For now this is just another disappointment for boxing, as someone who was introduced to this sport by my Dad at a young age, and considers it one of my favorite sports to watch I am saddened and infuriated at the outcome.

Waste of 49.99. I had more important things to do with that money than buy a PPV but the boxing fan in me couldn't resist. I actually thought it was gonna be a good fight coming in. The whole PPV outside of the Demarco-Linares and Malignaggi-Lora fights, basically ******. Garcia vs Holt wasn't the fight I was expecting, Hopkins-Dawson was not the fight I was expecting. Hopkins faked an injury, what's new? You finally get the fans on your side with the Pascal performances, then you get a PPV spot on HBO and this is what you do.
