hilarious and ironic to hear Hopkins fans complaining about fouls.

fact of the matter is that Hopkins jumped on top of Dawson and tried pushing him down, ie illegal activity. Dawson tried to get him off.

if you start roughhousing ****, then you better expect it back. Thats why I was laughing after Floyd KOed Ortiz.

And frankly it doesnt matter if Hopkins was faking or not. If youre injured in a professional boxing match and cant continue, you lose by TKO. even if its caused by a fall.

As well as Boxing, i've played Rugby for most of my life, looking at the way Hopkins landed there's a very high chance that he could have injured his shoulder. You clearly see his elbow being jammed in a way that pulls on his shoulder ligaments. To add to that he's 46 years old! Rugby players usually are at an end by 32 for the sake of their body and well-being! Now if ppl who are used to landing like this want out of the sport at 32, whats gonna happen to bernard? not to mention they also land on grass. Anyway the MRI scans should prove conclusive.

By the rules, this probably can't be rewarded a tko but I agree with the call.

Good on Dawson not to give Hops a rematch and I hope bhop retires after this disgrace.
Get a grip man, Dawson grabbed hopkins behind the legs and threw him down.

Since when can you pick a guy up and dump him on his back/shoulder, guys is injured from that, and now you are declared the winner?

if hopkins is that fragile, then maybe he should retire

Explain how it was a takedown? A shoulder shrug isn't a ****ing takedown. It's done by every fighter to move someone back and if one guy is leaping in and grabbing, then laying over the back of the opponent and gets shrugged....It's the guy who shrugs?

The Clottey/Cotto incident was a takedown. Cotto spun him and threw him. Dawson used his shoulder to push Hop back off him because he was illegally grabbing then laying on his back.

Dawson isn't entirely in the right. You can't shove someone off with a shoulder technically. But, then what Hopkins does is most definitely in the wrong too. Even more so. You cannot punch, grab, then lean over the opponents back. That is illegal.

One problem is Hopkins' past. He has had a long history, especially recently, of using silly tactics to try and draw a foul or time to rest. His own history has been played against him. It's a classic boy cried wolf.

Haha, even if he did hurt his elbow, plenty of people shelled out good money for this fight. Hopkins, the self proclaimed tough guy from Philly, should've continued. It doesn't get anymore basic than that.
