      Cotto’s his own worst nightmare.

I’m sure the $50k played a factor in it but at the end of the day Steward is proper Old School. It’s going to be his way or the highway and now Cotto’s got his confidence back, I guess he feels he doesn’t need to put up with it anymore?

      Good luck with that...

At this stage of his career Cotto cant be cheap. This is a big fight for him and he needs a solid team that can help him win this. The change in trainers is a wrong move now. This fight is winnable for him IF he executed the proper game plan.

Speaks spanish, not a bad trainer, will be there more than Steward( I think) and for 50k less. Not a bad deal at all if you ask me.

Plus to me Steward is like Roach. Trains one or two great fighters and all of a sudden he's "legendary".

                I don't think its about the money...I mean fighters at Cotto's level **** 50k.

There has to be something more...maybe he didn't like the style, or the pace or something. Isn't Steward the type of trainer to let you lay down if you ask for it.

I don't know, story sounds suspect. Sounds to me like Steward was wanting a bigger cut. Coincidently, both fighters that dropped him in the same week are both in A). the biggest fight of their lives and B). their most financially lucrative fights ever

Probably went exactly how he expected it to go.

I don't know man, I'm actually happy about the change. I think Cotto learned all he could from Steward already. I think Steward is a lil overrated imo.

I think out of the two fighters that split with Steward I think Cotto will be ok with his new trainer because he will teach Cotto how to box punch and get ghost. While Dawson has this thing where he likes to be in charge in training with his family, not good when a fighter trains with his family around his family is his team in the gym not his wife and kids and his dogs.
