Mosley was not lineal champ, i.e. he did not hold the Ring Magazine title.

However BoxingScene "recognized" Mosley as their lineal champion because he beat Margarito, in a fight between their number 1 and 2 ranked fighters. So BoxingScene created their own "lineage". Floyd beat Mosley to become BoxingScene's "lineal champion". And has held on to the "title" since that victory last year.

If you check BoxingScene's divisional rankings, they still see him as "champion" and therefore rank him higher than Pacquiao at 147, even though the Ring Magazine title is vacant.

Floyd is currently a 1-time Welterweight lineal champ, but if he fightts Pacquiao it'll be a fight between number 1 and number 2 in the division so the Ring Magazine title and therefore lineal title would be on the line, meaning Floyd would then become a 2-time lineal champ at 147.

Just want to point something out here, Mosley/Marg wasn't a fight between 1 and 2, it was a fight between #1 and #3. There was no definitive lineal at the time because those three lost to one of the other. Now there were debates that 1 and 3 was "close enough" but c'mon, how can you say there was a definitive winner of that triangle (hence why The Ring didn't award Mosley).

To get floyd to even fight Sergio is hard enough. For Floyd to fight Sergio at 160 is dreaming and fantasizing really.

But Floyd lacks confidence in himself, putting other fighters on pedestals so im not sure if Floyd would entertain Sergio at 154, even though Sergio has made it clear he would do it.
Hes getting Sergio to step down, which is something FLoyd doesnt like doing for other fighters. Yet Sergio is prepared to give Flooyd an advantage.

well if he did it right now it would certainly be a beefy resume. Don't wait till Pacquiao's legs go, decision him then act like your the greatest. This fight could have happened last year.

May would probably beat Khan by KO and edge a decision against Martinez though.

Pacquiao might be younger than Mayweather but his style requires more physical talent. Floyd, like Hopkins can probably be competative into his 40's.
