Your right, it was a perfect gameplan. Heck, I didn't like Pacquiao then but I even had to admit he looked great even if Oscar didn't put up much of a fight.
Who's to say he wouldn't use a similar gameplan against Mayweather. He has to be conscious that if he fights like in his recent fights he'll get tagged all night.

The bolded part here honestly shows how little you know about boxing.....Manny OUTWEIGHED him on fight night....he was a full 17 pounds lighter when he fought FLoyd....stop talking out your a.ss
It's quiz time! Honestly, after you saw Pac dismantled Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Mosley and Marg. You think if the Oscar who fought Floyd was the one who turn up that night can beat Pac? That Pac performance showed how to box and counterpunch without getting hit back.

he did put together the perfect plan

it was like he didn't really recognize that he could hurt a WW
        or take a WW's punches
and he was buying in a bit to all the stuff he was hearing . looking back its almost nice to see him lacking confidence.

a lot of these guys don't remember, because they weren't even watching boxing, but manny was a huge underdog

oscar was supposed to destroy him

he boxed more early and really gave oscar a run around

and then he started landing combinations and doubling him over with the left hand to the body

his footspeed was phenomenal that night

it also became pretty clear during the fight, and certainly in the months after, that oscar was incredibly drained of weight (he had an IV the day of the fight, according to freddie roach, and still had a spot of blood on his arm.)

You know, it terms of a cherry pick, this was as mis-judged as it gets.

Not only did Oscar get whooped and humiliated in the ring - but he made a star of out Pacquaio - which then allowed Arum to use Pac as leverage to try to lure Golden Boy fighters and spend a good few years trying to destroy GBP.

          Oscar should've just fought Margarito

gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling watching DLH getting unceremoniously ushered out of the sport

and a big LOL @ the HBO crew mulling over a PAC-Margarito fight...'the unnaturally large welterweight Margarito'

they gave him 3 more lbs and he got his ass kicked worse
            I know what you mean.

Re-watching it is like opening a present on Christmas day when you already know it's that toy that you've been asking for all year.

It's even better, when you look back and remember that:

            - Practically the whole boxing world thought it was ****** because of the risk to Pac's health.

            - Philippines wanted to stop the fight from being made at all.

            - Most Pac fans were already expecting the loss and thinking of brighter days when he went back down in weight.

I think anyone that was an unbiased boxing fan that night would've believed in magic even just for a second, given how happy that fight made them.

I'm sure conversations like this were going on all around.

"Dang, did that mo'****a just do that?"

"Yep. I think they call him Pacman."

It was due justice for the crap that Oscar tried to pull.

That's why I will always be a fan of Pac for life.
And weight had nothing to do with ,,, Oscar was dead before the fight started , thanks bud , you just told me exactly where you are as a boxing fan .

How can coward Floyd school Pac when he doesn't want to step in the ring with him?
You and the rest of his fans should convinced Floyd that it's an easy win for him, otherwise, you'll all just end up bragging about Floyd winning in fantasy fights.

fight was fixed for DLH to pass the torch onto pacroid

DLH puprosely did nothing all fight..if you notice he never once pressed the attack. he barely threw punches (in fear of accidentally KOing pac and ruining the fix) and in the few instances he threw punches they had no snap on them. he was just throwing them to keep the crowd fooled. a truly oscar worthy performance (no pun intended)

go back and rewatch the fight and you will see oscar doesnt throw a SINGLE hard punch to pacs head, but very rarely he throws a very hard body shot (to fool the crowd into thinking that hes actually trying). he also fights hard at the 10 second warning of every round and suddenly gets this big burst of energy to make it seem like hes still trying. he does this at the end in case he accidentally hurts pac, the round would end anyway

no doubt oscar was holding back during the whole fight and during the rounds...the fix was completely obvious. then there was that whole controversy about an "anonymous" source saying DLH will take a dive in the 8th round. during the fight i always asked myself "why isnt DLH winging hard shots and left hooks at pacs face? why is he just sitting there inactive for 20-30 seconds?" well its obvious now. because the fight was fixed thats why

even at one point larry merchant says something about oscar not throwing a single punch in 30 seconds. theres no doubt oscar was holding back that night on purpose to try and turn pac into the next star. if you beat a main attraction you BECOME a main attraction..and guess what? it worked..

It was an excellent performance by Pacquiao but for me the Hatton fight was just incredible mainly because Hatton was in better form compared to De La Hoya and he just smashed him so quickly. The Cotto and Margarito fights were great performances by Pacquiao too.
