DLH puprosely did nothing all fight..if you notice he never once pressed the attack. he barely threw punches (in fear of accidentally KOing pac and ruining the fix) and in the few instances he threw punches they had no snap on them. he was just throwing them to keep the crowd fooled. a truly oscar worthy performance (no pun intended)

go back and rewatch the fight and you will see oscar doesnt throw a SINGLE hard punch to pacs head, but very rarely he throws a very hard body shot (to fool the crowd into thinking that hes actually trying). he also fights hard at the 10 second warning of every round and suddenly gets this big burst of energy to make it seem like hes still trying. he does this at the end in case he accidentally hurts pac, the round would end anyway

no doubt oscar was holding back during the whole fight and during the rounds...the fix was completely obvious. then there was that whole controversy about an "anonymous" source saying DLH will take a dive in the 8th round. during the fight i always asked myself "why isnt DLH winging hard shots and left hooks at pacs face? why is he just sitting there inactive for 20-30 seconds?" well its obvious now. because the fight was fixed thats why

even at one point larry merchant says something about oscar not throwing a single punch in 30 seconds. theres no doubt oscar was holding back that night on purpose to try and turn pac into the next star. if you beat a main attraction you BECOME a main attraction..and guess what? it worked..
This theory doesn't really work because,

    1. What was Oscar's motivation to elevate a fighter from the biggest rival promotional company into a star?

    2. Pac has proven himself at WW. This wasn't a fluke result. We just didn't realise at the time how good a WW Manny would end up being. Taking that now into consideration, you can see nothing fishy was going on - DLH just got outclassed by a brilliant fighter in his prime. Pac would have destroyed the Oscar who fought Floyd too.

I think so much more attention is paid of Oscar looking the way he did that night. His punches were slow and had zero pop on them from the sound of the first bell.

Saying that; Oscar put himself into the situation. He deserved to lose in the fashion he did, and I am a big fan of the Golden Boy.

From this fight until the train lost it's steam post Cotto, EVERYONE was on the Manny Pacquiao bandwagon. He trained hard, came to win and he won big.

You and the rest of his fans should convinced Floyd that it's an easy win for him, otherwise, you'll all just end up bragging about Floyd winning in fantasy fights.
Sorry kid , fight will happen and Floyd will school him , at least when it happens you cant say you wasnt told

              ,

Mak, IMDAZED, and sekondzout should be in the debate as well.

What was there to like though? Besides watching him getting humiliated of course

Easy to look good against a washed up fighter that can't pull the trigger. But I loved every minute of that fight. Nothing more satisfying than seeing Jro's hero get whooped. True story, I was sitting next to Jro that night watching the fight and he was sobbing uncontrollably. Did I mention he was wearing matching fishnets like the one in Oscar's pics?

i've been hating DLH since 93...right after the Olympics when Arum was constantly shoving the golden boy hype down the throats of SoCal fight fans...his face was everywhere...then when he whooped on Ruelas (i was a huge fan of both brothers) i REALLY hated his ass

I want it to happen, but I'm not a dreamer.
The fight won't happen, not until the coward grows some balls. And that is very unlikely.
