I do think the criticisms are valid, to an extent. We can't deny DLH was a part-time fighter at that point, and that making 147 didn't affect him.

But I don't think the win and overall gets as much credit/praise as it should, cos people seem to dismiss it completely (and I did too, for a long time)

It's awesome performance. Honestly, this to me is as close to boxing perfection as it gets.

I respected that fight but now in totality seeing that pac has fought in the welterweight division only guys coming off losses rather than wins....i cant stand behind that.

Oscar could never handle southpaws. An old Pernell clowned his a$$.
The second fact is that Oscar hadn't made the 147lb limit in over 7 years.
He went overkill on the weight cut cuz of the criticism he got for taking the fight against such a small opponent. Then if that wasn't enough the ****** waited to rehydrate after the unofficial weigh in before the fight, which Roach admitted. Oscar being shot to **** and a part time fighter.(no *****)

Either way it was an amazing performance by Pac.
A complete slaughter and a epic humiliation

It's kind of hard to rank it. Because, in one hand no one really gave him a shot. Just a very few. It was suppose to be a mismatch in Oscar favor. A lot of people forget or don't know that Oscar cherry picked Pac to avoid Margarito. So taking that into account it's hard not to rated highly.

But, then if you look at in hindsight it was clear that Oscar was done. He had been done for years and quite clearly was weight drained.

I rated as a top 10 win for Pac. Not too great, not too bad.

                  The performance was spectacular though.

Good post. You have to acknowledge Oscar's condition - but you also have to credit Pac for putting on a clinic. This isn't the performance of a one-dimensional brawler with no defence and head-movement (as some think Manny is)

DLH was so dehydrated he couldn't even run a full lap! IV's couldn't rehydrate him! When you cut to a weight you have not been in 9 or 10 years at his age guess what. DLH weighed 17 pounds more when he fought Floyd, and was at full strength. So many idiots can't see it. Roach even said he looked like a ghost, and his legs were gone after the first round he was so weak. It was Roach that made the comment about not being able to run a lap too.
