of course all hardcore fans want to see floyd/cotto, but it ain't happening until cotto breaks into the bigger market of casual boxing fans.
What Cotto needs to do is start demolishing every welterweight out there to get the attention he wants. Cotto needed to destroy Mosley, but he ran in the last couple of rounds and got the decision... I think ultimately that hurt Cotto's box office appeal (not his appeal with Puerto Ricans though).

Cotto needs to destroy Margarito, and if he can't get a fight with Floyd he needs to destroy Williams, Clottey, and any other contenders at 147 and if he still can't get floyd he needs to start destroying 154 lbers.

That said, I don't think Cotto will destroy Margarito, but clearly outbox and outpoint Margarito. I'd be surprised if Cotto went toe to toe with Margarito, and if he did that's probably 2-4 years off Cotto's shelf life.

But Cotto needs some Vasquez/Marquez type epic wars to elevate his name among casual fans.

cotto and/or margartito have to really impress in the ring and in the TV ratings if either plans on fighting floyd.

Yeah, he demolished Pull forreal. I always wondered what happened to the Pull of old. He does seem like a different poster than before. He for sure hates Floyd with a passion now.

Cotto looked shook when he was ringside for the Floyd-Gatti fight and you could tell he wanted no parts of Floyd.

Cotto even wobbled against Mallignagi and he even got a questionable decision victory over Mosley and Clottey. There is no way that Floyd would duck Cotto at any weight.

Floyd most definitely ducked Margarito and he even came out and said it after Margarito was caught with the loaded wraps. But people just use that as an excuse just to hate on Floyd knowing that they would have never given him the credit of beating Margarito. He was and still is a high risk low reward fighter, unless you are Miguel Cotto.

Floyd did not duck Margarito.Arum himself said Floyd would have took the 8 million offered to fight margarito iF Arum guaranteed him 20 mill For Delahoya 10 mil for Hatton and 10 Mil for Cotto,And Arum turned it down.

Floyd went on to fight Judah and Baldomir Who had Major titles while Margarito only had a minor title and no name recognition.Floyd made more money with Baldomir then he would have made with Margarito.
