He'd have sat on the canvas.

Was Lamont Peterson less mobile when he fought Ortiz since his stance was wider?
Don't worry, we'll see what happens when Floyd stands in front of him. BTW Ortiz was throwing twice as much in his welterweight debut than he did in at least the last 4 fights at jr welter.

I don't think so. The Gatti fight was almost seven years ago. That Floyd is long gone.

Also in round 1 of their fight he pulled straight back on a Mosley lounge in. Then Mosley stopped & they resumed fighting in the center of the ring. I've also noticed Floyd looked off balance in the begining of the Judah fight until Judah started to slow after round 4 (southpaw stance).

I pointed these things out because Ortiz in the Berto fight was making sure that he got off 1st & last. Even when he lounged in & Berto tried to move & when he thought he had created distance Ortiz was still firing away. I'm telling you guys again that Ortiz is gonna catch Floyd with something big. If he comes into this fight like how he did with Berto, jaws are going to be dropping all over the place.

IMO, this fight really isn't any different from the Berto fight for Ortiz. He was supposed to get beaten then, just like he is now. I know a lot of fans are gonna start saying that berto was overhyped anyway, which in a sense he was. But no one can sit there & say that Ortiz wasn't the heavy underdog, anyway. The difference of course being that Ortiz should be very confident in his ability this time & will be out to prove it.
Berto's not like Mayweather so this fight's different.Ortiz's best shot is one lucky big shot that's all.The flipside to that is everyone he hit of late recovered and so he cant bet on a big shot.

Floyds wide stance is used fo increaded balance and thats why he didnt fall when he hit by those monsterous shots from Shane..Ortiz foot work and lack of head movement is gonna get his ass painted with accurate shots all night, this fight wont even be close.............

what sucks for ortiz is that he has no jab, he will get jabbed and pot shotted to death. Floyds legs may be slower at this age but ortiz not setting up his power shots off the jab will give floyd plenty of time to see the punches coming.

Cause he was fighting Berto who has 0 head or upper body movement and isnt a great counter puncher.Ortiz will throw alot less in this fight

I've said this before, I think Mayweather is most vulnerable before the 3rd/4th round. If Vic can't stop Mayweather early, Mayweather will stop him via RTD 9. The ref or Vic's corner will stop the fight.

Vic allows his opponents to fight on the inside. Mayweather is a genius at fighting on the inside and not getting hit. Mayweather has a way of angling his body to let him throw vicious body shots right up the middle. Another tactic he will use is jab to the body early and shoot his quick jump left hook.

By round 6 Mayweather will be throwing his lead overhand right which will land on a consistent bases. The accumulation of punches is why they will stop the fight.

My reason for Floyd's legs slowing down isn't just that fight--it's been going on since Baldomir. Floyd's legs have gotten slower and slower with each fight since. And he's relying on his strength more and more. those two things are a natural progression (or regression) with fighters as they age. Not to worry, his legs will be tested this fight and you'll have your answer as to how much they have left.
                      I'm not so sure.

I mean, Floyd stood in the pocket for most of the fight when he was in his early 20's against Chavez. He could have got on his bike but he decided not to.

Floyd's not really a dancer anyway, he's stood his ground with stronger opponents as early as the Olympics.

I don't think his legs are in bad shape at all personally. Atleast nothing indicates that to me.

I think Floyd willingly stands his ground at times, like I said he's never really been a dancer, he can beat fighters inside if he pleases.

As far as I'm concerned Mayweather hasn't een forced to stand his ground due to his legs being shot. Atleast in recent years.

                      Again I guess we'll see.
