Vic allows his opponents to fight on the inside. Mayweather is a genius at fighting on the inside and not getting hit. Mayweather has a way of angling his body to let him throw vicious body shots right up the middle. Another tactic he will use is jab to the body early and shoot his quick jump left hook.

By round 6 Mayweather will be throwing his lead overhand right which will land on a consistent bases. The accumulation of punches is why they will stop the fight.
That's if his recovery is the same at 34 & after 2 long layoffs against a fast hard punching youngster

That's great. I just didn't find his stance being wider as the reasoning he was less mobile and didn't have bounce & lateral movement.

Just saying that counter-punching usually requires a wide stance.

You get recovery from being in shape. I don't think age has anything to do with it.

I mean, Floyd stood in the pocket for most of the fight when he was in his early 20's against Chavez. He could have got on his bike but he decided not to.

Floyd's not really a dancer anyway, he's stood his ground with stronger opponents as early as the Olympics.

I don't think his legs are in bad shape at all personally. Atleast nothing indicates that to me.

I think Floyd willingly stands his ground at times, like I said he's never really been a dancer, he can beat fighters inside if he pleases.

As far as I'm concerned Mayweather hasn't een forced to stand his ground due to his legs being shot. Atleast in recent years.

            Again I guess we'll see.
I don't see Floyd as a dancer - and yes, Floyd will stand and fight. But yes, I do believe his legs are slowing down. His reflexes as well. To me, it was first noticeable during the Oscar fight. I'd also add that Floyd Sr. commented on this prior to the Shane fight; how Floyd was slowing down. The funniest thing was when I read somewhere how Floyd Jr mentioned that Roger isn't as quick on the pads as he used to be. Ahh...the irony. Anyway, I'm still favoring Floyd to beat Ortiz but at 34, with so many layoffs and (from what I see) the gradual descent from athletic freak to simply athletic...he's ripe for the picking and I think it will occur sooner rather than later.

honestly, if the ortiz that showed up for berto, shows up for floyd... then we got a potential great fight... but i cant shake the feeling that somehow victor will be shook once he steps in the ring. i think the pressure will get to him. victor is fast and explosive, he SHOULD get some good work in.

i feel like his mind was different in the berto fight... he had nothing to lose, he was broke, everyone doubted him, etc... etc...

against floyd, he is guaranteed 2.5 mil.... he might pull a clottey and take the check and call it a night... also, i get very skeptical about GBP fights. for YEARS, GBP have been feeding floyd their fighters for the money involved...

ortiz has the TOOLS to be great... but stepping up to floyd at this point is premature... best of luck to him.

10-1 is ridiculous, people call your bookies and place your bets on ortiz.........this is actually the 1st fight at 147 for floyd that he has a live opponent.

All great points with the exception of the ODLH fight... considering it was his first fight at '54 and a career high weigh-in at '50 for Mayweather, who can still be considered a small welter (though, I think he's grown into the weight class).

His legs aren't what they were in 2006 of course but I just think too much stock is put into Floyd's 'leg's being gone'.

I guess we just don't agree on Floyd's current condition and after Saturday we will have a good look on how it is and we can continue this from there.
