He lost to LaMotta, you're right. I forgot about that. But he was a welterweight (i think he weighed 147 on the dot for the fight), coming off a win over LaMotta and beat him four more times. He was 40-0 then, he didn't lose for another 92 fights.

He lost to LaMotta weighing in as a Welterweight and LaMotta as a Middle; he had Ray by around 15 lbs. I think. I think what BigSter was trying to say was he never lost to a Welterweight.

i think srr had the better career but coming from a lighter weight he would ge beat down by rjj. rjj vs hagler is a more fair assesment of roy. i think roy decisions hagler pretty easily. best middleweight of all time in his prime. just too explosive. top 3 athlete ever.

True, but how many pounds did Jones give up to Ruiz and Mayweather to ODLH and Pac to Margarito.

Also, Roy has never lost at light middle, middle, super middle and HVWT (only 1 fight, but still).

John Ruiz, shot margarito and past it de la hoya are NOT jake lamotta. He also beat the guy 5/6 times.

At what point was LaMotta gonna get the fact that he can't beat Robinson? After the 6th or 7th time of losing lol

On a serious note, I hate to play devils advocate, but some could say LaMotta was shot also. I'm not discrediting Robinson's victories over LaMotta, I'm just saying.

Also, Ruiz did beat Holyfield (past prime) and ODLH is a future HOF'er. In no way are those bigger wins, but if you're gonna say the above fighters weren't prime then let's be consistent and say LaMotta wasn't either.

EDIT: I'm not dis*****g your Margarchito point. He has yet to prove that he's a decent fighter without plaster. I was just making a point about the weight.

He was shot to **** and weight-drained for the St Valentine's Day Massacre, but four of those five wins were totally legit.

I really don't understand how anyone can compare the two after Roy got caught cheating. That alone makes him incomparable.

The only fight he was caught in, the other fighter was using steroids too.

One could say, he used just to even out the playing field against the other guy lol
