Very Logical, Boxing fans want KOs, Manny is a KO fighter, Floyd is not. PERIOD end of story!!! Trying to down play that or concede non truths is just childish and silly. We all know the Mayweather's camp song and dance. Of course it was a slight at Manny... KOs sells tickets, so do homeruns, and long passes... Facts or facts! If you aint knocking people out, hitting homers or scoring TDs, you better do something like act like a clown to entertain the people. I've never spent my money on a PPV hoping to see a decision.... But I guess rational is irrational when you trying to appease the irrational. You only compromise the truth and yourself trying to appease the Manny is on steriods and everybody he fights is a stiff and Mayweather is more exciting than Tyson and Pac crowd.... Bottom line, I tune into Manny to see action and it doesn't have a damn thing to do with Floyd fighting to decisions or dancing with the stars or extended vacations. I like action and KOs, not boring low action fights. To even entertain that Manny's rise didn't come from his hard work and balls out fighting style but yet anothers fighter choice not to fight is itself irrational. Both guys got to their positon based on what the did and not what another guy didn't do or chose not to do.

Fortunately, boxing appeals to both brawlers fans and boxers fans.

Not every fighter gets to knock out every opponent he faces, lest he is matched up perfectly with knockout-prone fighters.

Some guys like base hitters and base stealers and MLBs and DBs but there is a reason the homerun hitters and QBs, WRs, and RBs get the lions's share. That was all I was saying. There was a reason Tyson blew up and a reason why Pac blew up and it didn't have a damn thing to do with another guy chosing not to fight, or dance, or make racist and sexist web videos. It had to do with the KOs and most don't give a damn if you get the KO or not but they want action and effort for $60 bucks. Sure you'll find guys that'll pay $60 bucks and not want a KO and you'll also find guys that will rather go to Applebees than the Playboy Mansion but I was refering to the majority.

Although I agree with all of your opinions here so far, but I'm sure when the time comes that I won't agree with you, I'll have a respectful argument
I'm already ahead of you, I have 3 different responses to any devasting KO blow to my opinion, each ready to turn you against the ropes and sweep you right off the board....in a nice way, of course. I think they call it Plan A,B, and C. The only thing I'm not sure about is, like all fighters who follow this system of plans, whether I'll be able to switch smoothly to plan B or C as soon as I get my (figurative) first wallop on the jaw.

There's nothing I enjoy more than a spirited, respectably put (it doesn't even have to be so respectful, (which can spoil the spontaneity)) exchange of opinions.....as long as it's a subject I know something about. I'm not as good a liar as many on this board, so I could be caught out more easily, therefore, as you noticed, stay honest.

However, like many a hidden genius, I haven't been discovered yet, reminding me of that good old joke by Jimmy Durante that "...........They'd better hurry up and discover me, I only got 2 changes of underwear...." There was more to Durante which I can't resist...'They said Mozart was mad...they said Chopin was mad, they said Louie was mad..." (crowd) WHO'S LOUIE?? '".......my uncle..... he WAS mad....."

And in that context, I'm crazy, it's after 4.a.m. here, and I' You may notice my bleary ******** posts tomorrow. All the best.

            • LOL @ "obvious reasons". Floyd doesn't ever answer a question straight unless he thinks he has the upper hand.

If you're referring to the US Stream vid Floyd made, You need to re-watch it just to realize how the rant started. He simply gave Pac fans and Floyd haters a taste of their own medicine and they found it a bit bitter to swallow.

Could he have taken the high road and avoided the drama, sure? Even I expressed disapproval over the rant. He subsequently apologized for having taken it too far.

                  • Yea, its much easier to rise to the top when the former top guy isnt fighting anyone. Im glad that was clarified.

"We don't fight to prove boxing fans who the best is"

I never usnderstood what is wrong with the bolded statement. If you actually think boxers fight to prove to the fans who best then you are sadly mistaken. Boxers do what they do to get paid nothing more and nothing less.
